Reckless in Wall Street

By Anwar Ibrahim
"The recent arson attacks exemplify what's wrong with the way Malaysia regards its non-Muslim citizens. The attacks were provoked by a controversy over the use of the word "Allah" by Malaysia's Christian community ... Since then, an already tense situation boiled over, largely due to incitement by a few reckless politicians, the mainstream media and a handful of nongovernmental organizations linked by membership and leadership to the United Malays National Organization, the ruling party." - Muslims have no monopoly over "Allah"
By Najib Razak wants the world to know about us:
"Many Malaysians have been appalled by the irresponsible and dangerous finger-pointing of a few politicians who put personal political interests before Malaysia's national interest. They try to score political points by hammering on sensitive issues. My government chooses a different path. We will reach out to all parts of Malaysian society in the coming days to foster open dialogue and work to resolve sensitive issues together." - Finding Unity in Malaysia's Diversity
Dangerous finger pointing, reckless politicians. Do read the two articles, which were published by the WSJ on Jan 25, and compare the messages that the writers are trying to convey to the world.

In his article Muslims have no monopoly over "Allah", Anwar started off with:
"Malaysia has once again resurfaced in international headlines for the wrong reasons. Over the last two weeks, arsonists and vandals attacked 10 places of worship, including Christian churches and Sikh temples."
My question when I read this was: Why no mention of attacks on suraus/mosques? The logicial answer is, perhaps Anwar had written the WSJ article before the alcohol bottle incident in Sarawak on Jan 16. That is quite a while ago. Anwar's webmasters should update his WSJ article on his blog and do it quickly so people won't accuse him of misrepresenting the facts. Add the pig heads incident, too, so as to give the full picture.

The PM, on the other hand, writes about Muslim groups volunteering to safeguard churches in their towns. Muslim social activists writing petitions to oppose these senseless acts of vandalism, and Muslim civic groups standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Christians, Hindus and Buddhists to ensure that all people can freely worship as they wish.
"Christian and civic leaders have urged calm and interfaith dialogue; they are fully aware that those who perpetrated these acts do not represent the Muslim majority in Malaysia."
Anwar does not waste the opportunity given by WSJ to attack his former party and the man who stands in the way of his political ambitions.

"Malaysia's international reputation has taken a beating since Prime Minister Najib Razak was sworn in last year. Despite his efforts to promote national unity, news about the caning of a young Muslim woman charged with drinking, the mutilation of a cow head in protest of the construction of a Hindu temple, ill treatment of Muslim converts who revert to their earlier faith and even the outlawing of the practice of yoga by Muslims have many at home and abroad wondering which direction Malaysia is headed under Mr. Najib's leadership. There are already misgivings about governance, human rights, the rule of law and rampant corruption; Malaysia dropped 10 spots on Transparency International's 2009 Corruption Perception Index, our worst showing in over 15 years. The vision of Malaysia as a peaceful and stable location for investment, tourism and migration is now in peril."
Najib made no reference to Anwar at all in his WSJ article. At first I thought the PM's reference to "finger-pointing politicians who put personal political interests before Malaysia's national interest" was a jab at Anwar but then I realise that it describes quite a few politicians I know of in BN and in Pakatan.

Do read Pasquale's Rebuttal, here.

    Sdr Rocky,
Dah muak saya dengar celoteh Anwar. Buka mulut terus berbau busuk mungkin akibat selalu salah lubang. Kalau diteliti Cara berhujah Anwar tiada langsung menunjukkan Hemah seorang pemimpin. Menuding jadi adalah kebijaksanaan beliau tetapi bak pepatah setiap Kali menuding jari, tiga jari menuding kita balik. Mungkin di sini beliau terlalu kerap guna jari hantu (middle finger). Setiap ucapan mahupun ungkapan beliau tidak bertujuan meredakan keadaan. Ibarat menjirus minyak dalam API.
Syabas DS Najib kerana berjaya mengekalkan keterampilan sebaliknya pemimpin berhemah Dan berkelas bak kata Mat Saleh. Mungkin beliau nakal masa muda tapi boleh diterima akal jika melibatkan hanya kaum hawa. Bagaimana pula kalau melibatkan jantan Dan menyondol lubang kunyit.

  26. The way I see it Najib had made full use of the space allowed by the WSJ to convey a message of hope and unity for all Malaysians in particular and the International Community in General.

Anwar on the other hand true to form disparaged everything about the country basically writing down what he is saying in his ceramahs, if Anwar's devisive statements are to be believed then everybody should just stock up their ration and stay at home as it is no more safe outside.

The aftermath of the Church bombing, surau bombing, mosque and sikh temple desecration showed that Majority Malaysians are more peace loving, matured and more tolerant then the extreme that Anwar and his Pakatan ilks would like to potray our Malaysia. Pakatan divisive politics has come to past and Anwar needs an issue to divert attention and shore up support to his disintegrating PKR where its leaders and members are leaving the party like birds fleeing from a cataclysmic disaster.

The two opposing articles showed Najib as a true leader of Malaysia and showed Anwar as a desperado political has been, still dreaming to become Malaysia's PM but willing to disparage his own country and countrymen just to score political points in the process.

See, anwar's speech contains evidence that these series of incidents were planned long beforehand to tarnish the reputation of Malaysia in the international arena.

Objective: to divert investments to another country - no prizes for guessing!!

Even before Najib took over the reigns, he had been given a thorough character assasination - altantuya murderer, a practising Hindu, keris waving swearing to bathe it in chinese blood, etc.

The anti-Malaysia group KNEW that Najib is capable of realising Tun Dr M's vision 2020.

The pro-pkr group desperately wants anwar at the helm of governance exactly because he has not much ideas of how to run Malaysia Inc.

So that means he will have a troop of ADVISORS - who most likely will not have Malaysia's interests at heart (remember paklelah & sil).

These pro-pkr group knows that anwar's character is questionable on moral grounds but that matters NOT as long as the capable Malays are not at the forefront of governance.

Which explains why they would SUPPORT pas - even with the possibility of HUDUD laws being implemented.

Well so far Najib and team have been busy with MANY initiatives which is looking good for Malaysians as days go by.

    Anti-Najib: EAT YOUR HEART OUT

P.S. 1Malaysia will see Malaysians in the mould of the majority - Insyallah ...

Go check at http://www.apcoworldwide.com/ APCO's board of directors and sr managers which icludes 2 Israelis, one a MD. Read 'em and weeep!

As for Najib appointing spindoctors APCO, read MI report dayed 22/10/09:

    By Adib Zalkapli

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 — Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon (picture) confirmed in Parliament today that the government had engaged Apco Worldwide, an international public affairs and media relations company, to boost its image overseas.

The Malaysian Insider understands that the contract is worth some RM20 million but Koh, in a written reply to a question from DAP’s Serdang MP Teo Nie Ching, did not divulge the exact amount.

“Apco Worldwide was tasked with promoting and improving Malaysia's image overseas,” said Koh, who is Minister in the Prime Minister's Department.

He justified the appointment by asserting that a foreign firm would ensure that the country's communication practice was in line with international standards.

To justify the hefty fees it is charging, The Malaysian Insider understands that Apco Worldwide staff are now generating press releases and conducting media training for the government.

Because of the value of the contract, Apco Worldwide has set up an office for the first time in Malaysia. Its personnel are mainly from the United States, and the main focus of their job remains to improve Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s image.

It is also understood that the government has hired a separate firm in the United States to act as its lobbyist with the Obama administration."

I believe rocky's bru has also posted on APCO before. You can verify with him!!

What I can’t UNDERSTAND is that why is PAKATAN RAKYAT playing the same tune as BN?

    Look……

    (1) When CHURCHES & GUDWHARAS was attacked, PAKATAN RAKYAT & its’ supporters pointed fingers at UMNO (BN). When SURAUS & MASJIDS was thrown BOAR HEADS, the same group of people pointed their fingers at UMNO (BN). Instead of pointing their fingers here & there, why can’t PAKATAN RAKYAT be more INNOVATIVE & CREATIVE by coming-up with something more CONSTRUCTIVE with their WILD ACCUSATIONS??? Finger pointing is NOT the way to defeat BN. If PAKATAN RAKYAT have the HOTS for finger pointing, I reckon they take their fingers & shuff it up their own ARSE (or atleast Anwar Ibrahim’s %$*#).

    (2) When other component party leaders within BN (MIC, MCA, PPP, etc) followed PROTOCOLS by keeping their MOUTH SHUT regardless whether they are HAPPY with an issue or not…..PAKATAN RAKYAT constantly come attacking saying it’s “STRING PUPPET ethics”. However, when the notorious ZULKIFLI NOORDIN comes out saying what he felt sincerely inside his heart regarding an issue, PAKATAN RAKYAT says he should follow PROTOCOL by keeping his mouth shut!!! PAKATAN RAKYAT frequently preaches DEMOCRACY but when ZUL NOORDIN practices it, he gets a “Shut the FARK UP memo”.

Actually comparing the two, I should say that Malaysians should be commended for being a little more sophisticated than the Germans then who bought into Hitler's tale hook line and sinker.

But then again in Malaysia i should say that you guys are amateurs when compared to Hitler. Maybe you guys should translate Mein Kampf and also read whatever other literature that you can lay your hands on. After all can't you see that Hitler's infrastructure is almost already in place here? So what Hitler could not do then, maybe the proponents of ...er...what the hell do you guys support anyway?...may finally succeed?

Or if you find the going hard, maybe you can consider for one moment, that maybe even the ordinary Malay on the street is far more sophisticated than you would like to believe they are!

Or maybe, the new media is God's answer to the likes of Hitler and Hitler wannabes!

  57. Hello donplaypukis/donplayplay

You ask for facts and source we give you facts and source.

A lot of people, millions, do read MI and Mkini and M2day daily. We don't care who owns them as long as the report the facts and it makes sense. You read Utusan and NST don'y you? You care who owns it?

Tak mahu kalah, cakap je lah! Typical UMNO/BN apologist! Nothing more to discuss. Muahaha!

ancient stink advise us to read rpk, I wonder why ...

1 to learn how to talk big and then run away hiding

2 to optimise mileage for sponsors

3 to con gullible people esp the Malays

4 to hit back at Rocky (for having changed his political leanings??)

5 to learn to be an imbecile-induced "warrior" (remember rhan?)
