2.4 million!

Baffling stats: Indonesians in Malaysia. There are 2.4 million Indonesian nationals living and working in Malaysia today. Some 1.2 million came here legally. The rest are here by other means.

Sorry...need to catch up on statistics. Now close to 3 million (legal and illegal)! And average 600 crimes (all sorts) occurred in the country per day. Another reason this government implementing the "thumb print" bio-metric) as security measure. Foreign labor out-populated our armed security personnel?

    bro,
the statistics show that our enforcement is very poor. also corruptible.
indons coming in illegally is not new. they have been doing so for a very long time. in those days they could buy their IC's for RM250 from Sungai Besar. I know. And imagine that.
It's is all about making that extra buck as a government servant.
until today, those who make money just closing an eye to illegals coming in, are putting the country in jeopardy.
we must not b xenophobic. we must not be prejudiced. but the security of the country is something we cannot overlook.

  3. I'd love to see a video of Zam's discussion with these Indonesian students and journalists. The reports sounds like he lectured them non-stop. That wouldn't have gone down well at all. We should take a look at the Indonesian papers and see what their take was on Zam's little piece of advice.

Speaking from a layman's perspective, that number still seems exceedingly low. Perhaps the actual figure is closer to 4-5 million. But this is strictly a guess. I've heard there are as many as 70,000 Japanese, 50,000 Koreans and 30,000 Americans here as well. It would be nice to see an actual, accurate census.

    side track,
read the Malay Mail, 26.6.2007 :
"One of the die-hard ‘fans’ happened to be the uncle of Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri, 30, who is charged with murdering Altantuya Shaariibuu in Mukim Bukit Raja last year.
Azilah’s uncle, Adi Admajah, 65, flew in from Medan, Indonesia, and has yet to miss a hearing since the first day of the trial.
“Although I have come from far, I don’t mind the small sacrifice I am making for my nephew.
“I want to show my support and give him strength,” he said.

    can some one explain,
    the uncle from Indonesia ?
his father must be from Indonesia ?
the Chief Inspector a Malaysian or Indonesian ?
? an Indonesian in the Police Force ?

My name is Wee Geat Thin and I own a shop selling clothes and souvenir imported from Vietnam where my wife is from. we own a few shop in Central Market, kl.
I would like to highlight the problem of illegal foreign worker in Malaysia. In Central Market, there are so many foreign worker working as sales assisstant in shop and stall there. I was told that there are many among them are illegal without proper worker permit to work as sales assistant. Some of the shopowner knowingly hired this foreign worker without any work permit or without the right work permit to work as sales assistant as they want to save on labour cost. The government have to do random check on shopping mall and restaurant to check on their foreign worker as I believe that the number of illegal foreign worker is very high.

Anynonymous 5.35pm, you seem to have forgotten about the Africans, Myanmarese, Filipinas and nos, Indians (from India), and a growing number of South Americans. Huh! Who needs an army to invade Malaysia then?

    - Amir.

ps. Wonder what good the 2 submarines will do, now that the invaders have landed.

And yoda is quite right too! This is treachery and betrayal of the highest level.

ZAM, what and why are you complaining? You are Zainudeen Maideen, somewhere along your ancestral lineage must have reached this shore as illegals. The ancestral lineage of the Chongs, Tans, Lims, Gans, Vellus, Pandithans, Ramasamys and the rest of the gang also came here as illegals. Why were they here? Looking for better "rezeki". We need the Indonesians, as well as the Bangladeshis, Pakistanis, Tibetans, Vietnamese. I suggest, we should open up our eyes. Go check the Chinese New Villages in various parts of the country. Don't be surprised to find thousands and thousands of illegal Chinese from mainland China. Go to Indian eating shops (Muslim and non-Muslims) and make checks. You'll get plenty of illegals from Chennai. Why is ZAM not complaining? Now, what about the illegal Malaysians in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Australia, UK and the US. Know something, they're remitting millions of dollars to Malaysia. We are not complaining. Why the double standard?

Let's face it. This country has been invaded by illegals a long, long ago. Hordes of Chinese and Indian illegals came into the country aided by the British colonialists with the objective of dividing and ruling the land. Now that the descendants of these illegals have been given citizenship of Malaya (and then Malaysia), they begin to complain about the presence of Indonesian illegals. Come on Chongs and Vellus, sedar dirilah sikit. It's like the pot calling the kettle blacklah ...

    To Confused, let me explain:

    1) The Bush family members must have been hiding in the bush, while their menfolk slaughtered the red indians. And now the family members rule the US, passing the baton from father to son;
    2) The Vikings came on the shore of unknown islands blaring their horns and savagely murdered the local inhabitants. One of the descendants of the "horn blarers" "modernised" the spelling of the family name to "Blair". He just left office to pass on the baton to another descendant of the marauding Vikings;
    3) The Lims, Ongs, Chongs, Liongs, Velus, Segarans etc were shipped to Malaya by the English to work the estates and the tin mines. Do these people want to emulate the descendants of the people who hid in the bushes or viking horn blarers?

  19. Hello Folks,

I'm a M'sian cari makan in Indo, and it's true - every other day there's stories of mistreatment of their wargas in the korans here, and is usually given the front pages. Along with stories of CT/DK too, if there are any.

I'm not saying they're playing it up - bit with 3 mil (a bit high but yes, include that with the rest of the other recent immigrants then maybe) wargas in our in the country then it's a major source of foreign exchange for them. Do you know that contributions sent back home in 2006 WAS MORE than receipts garnered from tourism?

So they have a right to play it up I guess...

Somebody sent me an email of a official announcement that this government will be building "special schools" be for Indonesian school-going children" with a population about 30,000 to 40,000?? So just figure out the population of Indos here. And in Port Klang jetty, just watch the numbers of ferry boats coming in per day!! From indon of course.

  21. Perhaps we are looking at this centuries old phenomenon from the modernist/colonialist concept of 'nation-state', i.e. the boundaries that were drawn after Anglo-Dutch Treaty in 1824 and Merdeka in 1957? Wasn't Parameswara a prince from Sumatra? Aren't most of the Malays' forefathers from 'Seberang' - Minangkabau, Jawa, Bugis, Banjar, etc.? Now, what is 'natural' and what is 'imaginary'?

    Without wanting to sound racist:

China - where the land is - is populated by people of the chinese race. In fact, even Alaksa, USA, were habitats of the Chinese people, where the Innuits are now.

The subcontinent India, is the place where Indians of different stocks - Nepalese, Dravidans, Aryans(?), Bangladeshi and so on, is said to have originate from.

The Malays: whether banjarese, javanese, bugis, melayu, champa, and so on, were the inhabitants of a chain of Island and peninsulars that were once known as The Malay Archipelago. Were these lands joined together, they would perhaps be named The Malay (somethimg else). And this includes the Malay Peninsula which is now part of Malaysia. Ada faham?

Kalau saya jadi perompak (perampuk, dong!) pun, saya akan gunakan bahasa loghat Indonesia. The moment the police turn up, the first thing my victim would say, "Latuk, Indon punya olang, wo. Lia cakap selupa olang Indon,ma, tatak moleh cakap milayu". See, the police then will start looking for Indonesians instead of me and my gang.
