Blame it on modern moms

Senator Syed Ali Syed Abbas Alhabshee says the decline in our youths' moral values today is due to the failure of modern Malaysian mothers, for they are so caught up with establishing their careers that they neglect their responsibilities at home. He said these working mothers should stay home and take care of the kids.
Was Syed Ali thinking straight or thinking at all? [Read the Bernama piece here]
Senator Dr Norraesah Mohamad probably thinks he was just being a prick. She says Syed Ali's remark belittle the integrity of women. The responsibility of educating children should be shared by the parents and not left entirely to the mother.
"That is why we talk of parents and the word parenting does not involve the mother alone. If mothers cannot go to work, imagine the number of single mothers who would suffer being unable to raise their children for lack of money," she says.

I owe much to my mother because she helps out the family financially. My dad had a job only it didnt pay enough. If it wasnt for my mother I would have never gain enough education . My parents shared the responsibility.

The senator is a total idiot. A youth is a child to a mother and a father. I doubt he has any parental value at all.

  2. Some people have to open their mouth to prove their stupidity.

Enough said! Of course it is the responsibility of both parents to raise the child together!

What we have these days are - to a certain extent - mothers who work and still have to come home and cook and clean up and care for their children.

And the fathers? They are either at the mosque or the pub pontificating away!

Senator, please don't give up your day job but the government of the day should just drop you from that post because when you open your mouth, it is the dark hole of nothingness that we see.

    Merry Christmas!

Every race on the planet is facing a formidable challenge to defend its own value and culture. However, only few races which having deep and profound culture will stay .

The rest of other races will be absorbed by America hip-hop culture , orange-dyed hair and speaking half-past-six english.

What a pity to our members of Dewan Negara. You put it "was Syed Ali thinking straight or thinking at all?" and my response is he talked without thinking at all. He talked just for the sake of talking.

Moronics will still be appointed to the DR for comparisons, making some looking smarter than the others. unfortunately, the moronics out numbered the rest making this respectable dewan a laughing stock.

Hanafi Mat hasan's mother got the blame as well if this is the case. Pls let her live peacefully in her kampong. Do not drag her into this argument as though she is guilty as well. She ain't no modern mother. All mother loves their children no matter what. A 95 years old mum still worry about her 70 years old son. This senator is an idiot. Double confirmed.

Believe me those notorious Mat Rempits come from families whose mothers dont work just stay at home doing nothing waiting for their bread winners to come home. And what these mothers do,most of them watch Bollywood movies from tv transmissions or private vcds.

Most kids from career conscious women go to "sekolah asrama penoh"nowadays.Besides having more time concentration for their respective cereer development they also have much more time to look after much younger and tender offsprings and their boarding school kids are asured of better educations at the sekolah asrama penoh of various science Mara centres and malay college for that matter.
Im all for career women mothers.

my wife is a career woman. alhamdulillah, we've managed to bring up our children without much problems without even a stay-in maid. our experience may be isolated case but to put on blame to career moms is totally unjustified. this bozo senator is a female chauvinist who does the talking in the Senate without doing his homeworks.

Tahniah Syed Ali.

The decline in the morality of today's Malaysian youth is due to one simple reason: they had been spoilt to their toes. I can still remember the 1960s/70s when schoolboys were given public canings during assemblies for such minor 'immoral' acts such as being rude, irresponsible, ect. Because some idiotic minister banned canings altogether ( for fear that caned students would turn into psychos or rapists later on in life), we have our Mat Rempits and the hopeless youth today.
