The biggest story of 2013 that they all missed

f
Petronas in Caanda: The difference between the world of work and the world of chatter and gossip

Petronas' $36 billion in Canada. I'm waiting for those fellas at Majlis Tindakan Ekonomi Melayu Berhad (MTEM) to tell us this is another reason why the Prime Minister must remove Shamsul Azhar Abas as Petronas boss ... Hehe. On a more serious note, I can confirm that Najib Razak has said he cannot accept Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's wish to resign as Petronas Advisor.  What I cannot confirm is if Dr Mahathir has accepted the PM's refusal to let him go. Until we get an official announcement, therefore, the good doctor has to be categorised as the undisputed advisor of Petronas.
Now, here's last year's biggest story these fellas missed:

Toronto Star: Malaysia's Petronas commits $36 billion to B.C. gas plant, pipeline

Yes....but hasn't Petronas sold a stake in the Canadian project to a Chinese company?

And it is reported to be negotiating to sell another stake to an Indian company.

Who's next? Temasek's Pavilion Energy, where Hassan Marican (who knows a thing or two about Petronas) is Chairman of the Board?

This egregious Mahathir will never quit any post in Malaysia, period. Any resignation from any post is just only a pretentious one, one crying out for attention. He will never ever resign from any position although he is well past his use by date.
Just like his suggestion that Najib should be looking at cutting down the expenditures instead of introducing new taxes. This very suggestion has been advocated by many and for a long time, long before they came from this out of date old man.
Therefore his suggestions are not ideas coming from him !

It's a huge and risky investment. Fracking has some risky unknowns: environmental is just one of them. The Johor RAPID project is dead in the water, as this Canadian one will suck up so much PETRONAS money.

Ezra is full of crap. The story has got wide play in Western Canada. Petronas has bit off more than it can chew. It will now parcel out the project to various Chinese, Korean and Indian players to take a bit of the action.
