Petronas: Dr M still our Advisor

The Malicious Kind. In the oil and gas sector, fabrication is key. But there are fabricators that the sector - and this nation, for that matter - don't need.
Here is the Petronas' press statement issued yesterday in response to some malicious fabrication. For context, I have reproduced a Malay Mail article quoting a couple of name-calling fabricators.

Decision on matters relating to the appointment or resignation of PETRONAS’ Advisor is the prerogative of the Office of the Prime Minister of Malaysia and beyond the purview of PETRONAS.

PETRONAS categorically denies the claim that it took actions to vacate Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s office following the announcement of his intention to relinquish his position.

As far as PETRONAS is concerned, Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Dr Mahathir is still PETRONAS’ Advisor and maintains his office at the PETRONAS Twin Towers. PETRONAS holds the utmost respect and esteem for Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for his contributions not only to PETRONAS but to the nation.

PETRONAS unequivocally condemns the malicious statements of MTEM who blatantly fabricated this claim for their questionable purposes.

In my last posting on Petronas The Biggest Story They All Missed, I quoted a Canadian news article lamenting the difference between the world of work and the world of chatter and gossip. You tell me which world this guys from MTEM live in ...

  4. And the group has inexplicitly tarnished the good name of not only the Malays generally but other Malay bussinesmen as a whole through MTEM.

"...saya rasa tak ada sapa pun yang kenal budak-budak yang tunjuk lagak ni.'

    Good point.

Actually, who are the members of MTEM? Which companies? And why do they think if they make enough noise, Petronas will start giving them money "under pressure?"

    Tan Sri,

I apologise for "lari topic" sikit, but I was Googling something totally different and came across your blog post on Rocky's Bru from about 2009 (after the first Herald case at High Court stage):

"Catholic's Allah, Islam's Allah. And so Justice Lau Bee Lan of the KL High Court ruled today that it was illegal for the Home Ministry to prohibit the Catholic Herald from using the word Allah. See story below."

“SatD, in Demi Allah, demanded why the sitting judge was a non-Muslim. Like him, I'm taken aback by the judgment. But if the sitting judge had been a Muslim and he had ruled the same, it would have been worse."

There's some truth in that. It's actually open to misinterpretation, whichever way it runs. Darned if you do, darned if you don’t.

So, I honestly think Malaysia needs to take a chill pill and let this be settled by an independent, multiracial and multi-religious body. And all parties must stand by what is agreed. Too many agendas are getting mixed in right now. Let's please not screw our country up over this.

Every Malay should be concerned with Petronas money. Mengikut wasiat Raja-Raja melayu segala sumber galian adalah hak orang Melayu. The Chinese and Indians were forced on the Malay Sultans and had no real rights to be citizens just like in Myanmar or elsewhere.

If MTEM members are on Mahathir side then they are guilty of exploiting malay rights because Mahathir never promote Majlis Melayu.

Kerajaan UMNO bangga kutip 115 juta!

Apa hal Pemuda UMNO senyap je? Hard Rock Cafe sampai jumpa Adnan ni judi 8 billion tak jumpa Menteri Kewangan?
