Tajudin Ramli (and other brave Malay entrepreneurs) of old. My column in The Malay Mail yesterday (Remember the Old Guards) is a big flashback to the good old days when Anwar Ibrahim was Finance Minister, or thereabout, a time when the system produced some of the most outstanding Malay businessmen, including Tajudin Ramli who pioneers, with or without Anwar's help, the superhighway that enables get so connected today. And today, these men are being hounded, sometimes for no clear reason. Old proxy wars between politicians, aided by machais who are today in powerful positions?
The article is a subtle reminder for today's businessmen (and today's and future Finance Ministers, too): the wheels keep on turning .... nobody stays at the top all the time.
