Rakyat di Bagan Pinang bodoh?

Blame the rakyat, YBs. After so many by-election victories, you don't expect the Pakatan Rakyat camp to be graceful in the Bagan Pinang defeat. But I expected the leaders to be retrospect, to also look at themselves for flaws.

Anwar Ibrahim, in his blog, reproduced Azmin Ali's posting here which unabashedly, and quite unfairly, blamed the voters for electing Isa Samad. So bitter was Azmin that he suggested that there was now no need for Umno to reform the party as its candidate at Bagan Pinang was clearly the choice of the rakyat despite his "corrupt past" (Isa was found guilty of money politics by Umno when Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was president).

Azmin wrote:
Blogging from New York, YB Zul could not believe that the people of Bagan Pinang had voted for Isa. In his posting here, he lamented:
Kit Siang hints at foul play by Umno ("What was unexpected was Isa’s 8,013-vote and thumping majority of 5,435 votes sweeping all the eight voting streams – the result of gross abuses of power, money politics as well as the postal ballot chicanery") but the veteran is probably the only one brave enough to ask the Pakatan Rakyat leaders to also look within:

"With the rout in Bagan Pinang, Pakatan Rakyat must go back to the drawing board and address the many issues bedevilling the coalition but which had been swept under the carpet, aggravating public concerns about its unity, discipline, cohesion, viability and sustainability as the alternative of the Barisan Nasional for federal power in Putrajaya.

"For a start, Pakatan Rakyat leaders must stop being shy about the need to demonstrate discipline and common sense of purpose at all levels of Pakatan Rakyat as well as have the courage to admit and to resolve any crisis of confidence undermining public support for the coalition."

BN never teach us to condemn others. That's why you don't see much comments on you. We want you to reflect on yourself.
    Who is Anwar in PR?
Who is Mat Sabu in PAS?
Who is Guan Eng in Dap?
I don't need to elaborate on this.
Can you give a contribution PR has given to this country? One is enough.

helo bro. Azmin, tanya pada semua rakyat Malaysia samaada mereka mau si-perasuh memimpin mereka atau mereka mau si-pengkhianat bangsa, penjenayah dan peliwat memimpin mereka.

  6. Bro mereka ni cakap banyak tentang Tan Sri Isa.

    Jawapannya kami dah tahu.

I think you should read Jeff Ooi's latest posting.

    http://www.jeffooi.com/2009/10/isa_is_vindicated_and_samy_and.php

    From his blog I quote

Those outstation PR YBs -- we have 82 MPs to count on nationally, and over a couple of hundred of state assembly persons on register -- seemed to think that they don't have to go work the ground to ensure a victory.

A handful of PR YBs used press statements, not even blogs in the digital age, to remotely campaign at large.

Many other PR YBs thought they needed just to show up only during the last laps of the campaign and to squeeze their ways onto the same stage that Anwar speak on the finale super rally -- and steal a camera opportunity or two for good Press.

These free-rider PR YBs had better be prepared for more landslide defeats in their respective homegrounds, far worse than the one we saw in Bagan Pinang yesterday.

    Rocky,
a gentle reminder to all PR leaders that the people is watching them and it clearly shows that not everyone can tolerate their way of campaining. There is always battle in every contest and they must learn to accept the result.
I think the EC have done their very best -- transparent ballot box, observer, in-situ vote counting and voter individual checking as both candidate have their officer in the election centre. Why blame everybodywhen they lost and keep mum whenthey won. Look at their supporters provocation not only harming the people but the police also.
BTW is the Penang government try to Revolt? How can a state government is against the federal law. The cost of the billboard will not be cheaper then RM2K, don't lie to the people b'cos it easily cost around RM7K. ISA supporters should sue the CM of Penang for using public fund.

Rocky - he does have a point, but the approach should be questioned. It is a horror that people would be able to accept one who has been guilty of corruption. If the BN controls the government, then action from a disciplinary board of high stature should be taken seriously - he was guilty of corruption - thats what they said, and apparently they can prove it. If he was convicted in a court of Law, he would not be able to contest - the simple inability to stick to the laws of the land/UMNO Constitution should beg to question - is he right to be a member of the august house? My opinion - if Bagan can look beyond that - great, but it allows the question by Azmin Ali - How could they?

    (i) Bahawa strata korupsi Isa berbeza dengan strata korupsi orang seperti Kudus. Malah Anwar Ibrahim dipenjarakan atas korupsi juga: salahguna kuasa. Tetapi Kudus menerima, Isa memberi. Lain sangat bezanya.

Kalau benar fitnah, apa laaa salahnya bersumpah seperti Saiful?

    Wassalam,

Its a forgone conclusion that BN would win. After all the seat has been held by UMNO and with the postal votes under its grip, there is no way that PR can grab the seat even with the support of the non malay voters.

We should not label the rakyat in Bagan Pinang as bodoh as most of the Malays are alreday obsessed with ISA. That why Najis must chose ISA a corrupt person as he has to win at all cost. By chosing such corruptible person just as in Permatang Pasir, how do you expect him to campaign clean in Bagan Pinang.

Most of the Indian in Bagan Pinang are poor estate worker and with the pittance given to them during this election what do you expect in this time of economic crisis. Money and food is much more important than ideals and principle. For that pittance they could even sell their soul.

Thats why I have said many time in the blog that the Indians will be marginalised for a long long time.

    Rocky,

Tetapi selepas PR memerintah Selangor sejak Mac 08, saya semakin 'SEDAR' bahawa sebenarnya PAS tak lah sebagus mana.

Saya heran betul kenapa orang2 PR selalu 'double standard'.

    Guan Eng pun bekas banduan.

Jadi mereka semua pun bukannya 'bersih'. Sama saja.

    Saya rasa tertipu mengundi PR.

Salam bro Rocky..anybody can said anything, but they were not there at Bagan Pinang,or for one while, one or two days or hours, but for people who was there for the entire campaign days ( 8 days ) may see and feel different scenerio...frankly the winning is Tan Sri Isa and his small army (UMNO Telok Kemang ) where Isa is the Division Head. Isa being a veteran politician managed to get the jod done and avoided the lime light that UMNO and PAS leaders are looking at. The culture of SEEING AND BEING SEEING ' among the BN leaders and the PAS ( PAKATAN leaders ) in all byelection is not at all helping them. Kabinet ministers and leaders of UMNO and BN are there at Bagan Pinang, to show faces and getting their officers in ministry and government officers to organized function for them and get as many crowds, which are not the real people they are trageting - the voters. Big tents for makan and they arriving in big convoys of cars to show their popularity. But in Bagan Pinang by election is different Tan Sri was not there at most of this function, even DPM Tan Sri Muhiyyidin function, Tan Sri Isa was there for a while, his main task was to meet as many elegible Bagan Pinang voters, without wasting time an hour or two, showing faces at function that are attended by "import" crowds. Tan Sri Isa and his team moves to houses and friends and old friends. He was very choosy in meeting people and he knows the voters very well. In one of the function with the Army, he said, "I here not to eat and you are here to eat and met me ' I ask you to vote me and enjoy the food, thank you " everybody went back with stomach full and remember Tan Sri Isa. PAS made a grave mistake by going offensive, putting flags and banners at all places and bilik gerakan and stall by the roadside to attact attention. This resulted in traffic jam the localpeople hated this..added to the several incidents by mainly PAS supporters from outside making them selves seeing does not help to get the voters on their side. Bagan Pinang area is made of the famous area for sea and sand at Telok Kemang. The locals does not like the way byelection was done at their places. What they wanted was the candidiate that are willing to come and met them rather them rubbing shoulders with their leaders at functions. To make the pictures better, said by one of the local guy that Tan Sri Isa can win the byelection without even being in BN or PAS...and Bro Rocky..the main media are the worst, they do not know what they are doing, making a circus of the byelection in all previous byelection, and Tan Sri Isa does not follow their tune and agenda and Tan Sri Isa being a veteran knew the loop holes, without having to rub shoulders with the ministers and UMNO leaders - which is his junior ) and target the main task, elegible voters of Bagan Pinang. For BN and PAKATAN, in byelection, big banners, flags and big supporters, the culture of ' SEEING & BEING SEEING' is not helping....get down ,walk and meet the voters, throw away the protocals and show out... Anak angkat KG Sri Rusa, Bagan Pinang.

Based on that, maybe there are grounds for morally bankrupt people to rise up to the occasion like Isa, CSL, the bandit queen from India, the Italian prostitute who became an MP or at least tried to stand for election and not forgetting the guy who uttered "i did not have sex with that woman!"

We look at things from micro to macro. The 7 or 8 polling stations here are in relation to the country, at micro level. So the people in Bagan Pinang voted for a morally corrupt guy to represent them. So be it, it is their choice. Next time if a drug lord or a “taiko” is voted into power, please be fair. Same argument applies.

Morality may have lost at the micro level here but I hope it is not wishful thinking that morality at a macro level has also gone that way.

The long and the short of it is 1. if there are no faction fights in UMNO (Ku Li vs Dr M or Anwar getting kicked out) most Malays will vote for BN/UMNO. Pas is never a factor. 2. If there are no fools in the PM's office (referring to Badawi of course) then the Malays will also vote for the BN. During the times when the majority Malays do vote for BN, the Chinese and Indians also do te same. This is because the Opposition does not really have much to offer. DAP has much to offer the Chinese first. The Malays and Indians come last. PAS has much to offer their members first. Then come Muslims. Everyone else is last. The PKR has nothing to offer anyone except making Anwar the PM and supplying him with a steady supply of boys and maybe girls.

This is the reality of the Opposition. They have nothing in common - no common agenda for the people.

If Anwar did not get the black eye, if Pak Lah was not so stupid, the Opposition has no reason to even exist. They need black eyes and lame PM's before they can finger each others assholes in the dark.

  55. This may not be a turn of the tide political event but the thumping majority that BN obtained burying PAS and the PR electoral pact under a mountain of votes in the process showed that with the right candidate who is generally acceptable by all in the constituent makes for a united campaign election machinery which will in turn produce the right election result for BN.

PR leaders and supporters can yell and scream to high heaven about BN tainted candidates tetapi mereka cakap tak serupa bikin having allowed ex-convicts guilty of corruption and abuse of power and sedition to represent them in the DUN and Parliament themselves. The more they talk about tainted candidates the more they are spitting into the air to have spit splattered all over their shameless faces.

Much work remains to be done in UMNO,MCA and unfortunately the MIC, to prepare for the next GE to regain lost ground in the last GE, but again let's savour this moment while the PR leaders hypocrites and intolerant as usual, blame their huge loss on the voters, the postal votes, the EC, everything and anything that moves but refusing to take the blame themselves like matured politicians do. They are just pitiful victims of their own irrational political propoganda.

    Bro,

Aku selalu melihat perkembangan politik PKR macam filem Hindi. Selama ini PKR sering menyalahkan orang lain sedangkan orang celik ilmu macam aku dah serik melayan kerenah politik PKR. Kalau boleh diplotkan cerita:

    Senario 1

Azmin tak salahkan rakyat Bagan Pinang tetapi komen itu adalah konspirasi BN kerana takut tembelang mereka pecah.

    Senario 2

    Senario 4

    Suruhanjaya Pilihanraya berat sebelah.

Jom tengok wayang... hehhehe

So Anwar, as the cliche goes, you can lie to people some time, but not all the time. You see Anwar, people are not as gullible as you think they are. For the Pakatan, people are only smart if and when they vote for them. Otherwise, you are fools or have been bought.

One more thing, if any of you were at the Teluk Kemang polling station, you would have witnessed some very ugly sights. Hundreds of PAS (Pakatan) supporters camped there, choked up the main roads making it difficult for the voters to reach the place and they shouted abuses, real abuses at anyone who wear BN logos or colours. There was so much hatred demonstrated. I thought the pakatan adviser who is so pro-West, should be able to inculcate some decorum in its' supporters as what is practiced in the so called civilised country but no, as it turned out, Anwar is the biggest instigator.

We can’t blame the tainted leader if those who choose to elect this tainted leader, “it takes two hands to clap”. Bagan Pinang folks are ordinary and simple peoples, and most of them are from poor background and uneducated. Whether they are from military background or all races, for them, it is about daily survival. The poor will remain poor, if they do not strive to succeed their life. As a leader, they should uphold the highest standard of code of ethics to protect the weakest group of people. Ironically in Malaysia, this rich leader who has enriched themselves through ill-gotten gains has abused their money and power to manipulate these groups of people. It is a mocking to our democracy system. The verdict has passed, all voices have been heard, and life still has to move on.

Today, we have become a witness of a failure system especially UMNO as a political party. By endorsing Isa as a tainted candidate, UMNO has failed to fight corruption practices within its organization. As a biggest party in BN coalition, UMNO should lead by example in fighting corruptions. However, UMNO fails to do it. Secondly, UMNO as an organization should not be subverted to Isa’s demand. If Isa has a genuine interest for UMNO, he should not contest in this election. By judging his popularity to the local, he can ensure and deliver UMNO’s success, even UMNO appoints a clean candidate. It is sad that Isa has failed to comprise with UMNO. As a chief minister for more than 20 years, he has publicly disgraced UMNO’s dignity. Isa ought to scarify himself, if he loves his own party. It is very clear that UMNO is seen as a desperate beast in this election, after consecutive losses to Pakatan Rakyat. An error is made by UMNO by appointing Isa as a candidate. By winning this election, it is an endorsement by UMNO to accept corruption pratices in Malaysia.

The whole nation is watching closely on this election, and a verdict has been passed by public. The ripple effect on these issues has begun. Even, every individual Malaysian is conducting a soul searching regard to these issues. It is a blessing to our nation as UMNO has won this election.

June 26, 2005 --- Zaid Ibrahim found guilty of money politics

KUALA LUMPUR, Sat. - He is deeply troubled about being found guilty of money politics. He is upset that Umno's disciplinary board feels that it is above criticism. He feels that his three-year suspension from the party is not justified. But Datuk Zaid Ibrahim is not resigning from Umno.

"I have no quarrel with the party," said the outspoken Kota Baru Umno division chief. Zaid, who is also Kota Baru MP, had questioned the board's decision to reprimand him after it found him guilty of involvement in money politics on April 7. He described the board's decision as unfair and questioned its procedures in public.

Following this, board chairman Tengku Tan Sri Ahmad Rithauddeen Tengku Ismail warned party members that they risked suspension and expulsion if they continued to publicly malign the board.

On May 4, the board had issued letters to Zaid and Federal Territory Umno State liaison secretary Datuk Syed ...

The Bagan Pinang By-Election is undoubtedly the turning point for many malays who decide to `teach' UMNO a lesson by dangerously vote for PR during the PRU12. Yes, dangerous because many do not heed the advise of many veterans and older generations not to experiment with power. The results of PRU12 as we all know, is history. Two out of seven previous by-elections were in my constituents, Permatang Pauh. And I witnessed the arrogance of PAS during these by-elections. Two words to describe them `takbur' dan `taksub'. These two characterisctics killed them in the Bagan Pinang by-Election.

The Malays are willing to give UMNO their second chance. They can now see what is it for the culture, bangsa, negara dan their asal usul if PR will continue to rule, with PAS showing unprogressive thinking and practices. Certainly, they do not trust PKR right from the beginning, but it was PAS who they thought should be able to shoulder the responsibility and take the Malays to higher level - economically, socially, politically with strong moral and ethics. But, I believe we all have witness the failure of PAS to carry that responsibility. Hence, we can see the anger of many Malays towards in Bagan Pinang by-election.

However, UMNO shouldn't be complacent with this small but significant win. They have to continue to convince others who left UMNO during the PRU12 to being back to their fold.

InsyaAllah, we'll see bigger win after this and be able to bring back all states.

    Good bye PAS.

PAS lose to BN in BP is not because ppl there are DF , It's simply because that PAS has chosen a foolish & meaningless slogan for their party.

The slogan for their party is "PAS for all" while BN slogan is "1 malaysia, performance now"

So what is this "PAS for all" means for local ppl in BP ? From local prespective point of view PAS is simply a ping-pong club which membership is open to all ages (age 2 and up)?!.

It simply doesn't make sense does it?I bet those people in PAS who created this slogan are some sloopy guys that have not enter a slogan contest before or don't even have any vision sort of creativity at all as compare to BN Slogan "1 Malaysia , performance now" . Even if BN use this slogan "malaysia boleh" slogan for it's campaign still it makes sense , isn't it?

Please do not ask for Pakatan Rakyat to officially register their party.

This will make them stronger and we shall be stuck with Khalid Ibrahim as MB a lot longer than necessary.

Do you really understand English ? Where did I say that PR leaders are saints or that PR doesn't get involved in money politics ?

I am merely reflecting on Isa's candidacy. If you voted for him, isn't it voting for giving him a second chance ? A second chance after he was banished for 6 years by his own party for money politics ?

No need to compare with PR now because PR doesn't have access to the same sort of corruption as UMNO.

If you look at how Isa was feted as a hero at the UMNO General Assembly yesterday, you really want to puke. All the talk by Muhyiddin that UMNO has changed is just bullshit. You can con the kampung folks, but you can't con the urban voters.

It's business at usual with UMNO, don't let their corrupt leaders tell you otherwise.

Ahli Pakatan buat apa pun semua baik, sedikit cacat cela tak de, semua betul belaka, kentut busuk pun jadi harum. Kalau nak menghentam Kerajaan tak betul nak bersamseng bila masa nak lawat kampung bertemu rakyat, nak selesai masalah rakyat pun tak mampu tak de masa asyik nak mengomel je dgn Kerajaan, sendiri mau jawab laa...kalau kata Pakatan bagus negeri yg ditawan buatlah best job kat rakyat ni tidak c Nizar pun dah kena penyakit sasau dan meroyan tak de ke ulama PAS kasi motivasi, beri teguran sikit agar rakyat kawasan diutamakan bukan ceramah nak hentam orang semua tak baik inilah balasan dari Yg Maha Esa, kalau nak ceramah buruk hal orang elok jgn jadi wakil rakyat bukak sekolah caci maki lagi bagus. PR YB Astro baru ni pun sibuk aja masuk TV kawasan parlimen bila masa nak dtg melawat dan merawat. Terakhir JGN SEDAP MULUT panggil Rakyat BODOH.

Kalau pun Tan Sri Isa bersalah, itukan dulu.

Fikir-fikirkanlah....

Rakyat menangkan PR kerana benci BN bukan kerana jatuh cinta pada politik PR.

Rakyat kaum bukan melayu bukan benci rasuah yang diamalkan pemimpin BN tetapi benci kerana ketidak-adilan terpaksa menjadi mangsa racist, diskriminasi dan rasuah harian yang amat berleluasa dilakukan oleh golangan makan gaji kerajaan.

Kalau BN mau sokongan padu kaum bukan melayu pada PRU13, BN perlu maju kehadapan menubuhkan jawatankuasa di setiap negeri untuk menyelesaikan masalah serius yang dihadapi kaum bukan melayu. Anggota jawatankuasa perlu dianggotai sama rata 3 kaum terbesar dari golongan yang berwibawa (bukan golongan politik) untuk menerima ADUAN kaum bukan melayu kerana:

    1. SPRM tidak dipercayai oleh kaum bukan melayu.

BN perlu tangkas maju kehadapan membina rakyak SeMalaysia sebelum PR maju menbenamkan BN.

    Anak Malaysia.

    "THE NEUTRAL"

Directed by: Steven Yang (Not Steven Spielberg maaa..)

    Starring: Steven Yang

    Action!

Steven Yang: How can aa? A corrupted leader win the Bagan Pinang election?? Don't the people know how to choose aa? Why so stupid one. I'm saying this because i'm a NEUTRAL. So i can whack both BN and PR. But still aa.. why the the voters choose this... this ISA guy to win. Haiya soo stoopid one. Like this how can Pakatan bring plospelity and spread the goodness to everybody. They oso say Zaid Iblahim was convicted of corruption. Where got one, it's actually because he was fighting UMNO that's why laa he kena frame. Aiya so angly la me. I'm saying this cause i'm a NEUTRAL maa.. So i oso think...

Film crew guy: Err.. Mr Steven, if your a NEUTRAL why are you being just one sided?

Steven Yang: What! who?, who said that? This is my movie, i can say whatever i want laaa! Anyway aren't we shooting right now? Why you kacau?

Film crew guy: I just thought that..

Steven Yang: I don't pay you to think. Idiot! I'm the director and producer, if i'm dishing you crap oso you just shut-up. Now take two!

Film crew guy: (Whisper) Dumb Ass.

Steven Yang: What did you say? I heard that!

Film crew guy: I said 'You're the best'

    Steven Yang: Hah! Thought so.

Days after the film debut, it bombed. People hated it so much that they said it should have been called 'DUMB ASS' Steven Yang was quoted saying: "Aiya! These people are just like the Bagan Pinang folks, they don't know how to appreciate good work maa...Bolo punya olang".

by the same token, Anwar Ibrahim was banished from his party for corruption and money politics and also by the high court for screwing somebody's back.

what's your take on that? Anwar is not guilty? So you can be very selective lah? Anwar can, Isa cannot?

Anwar and Kit should realise that the voters in Bagan Pinang have spoken and rendered judgement.

What does it matter if that judgement may be flawed? That is the essence of democracy.

If Isa doesn't perform, or if he screws up, the voters have the right to toss him out on his backside in the next round of elections.

Anwar, Kit and the other "brains" in the DAP-PAS-PKR (in alphabetical order) grouping should instead be agonising about why the Indian voters in Bagan Pinang chose to back an Umno/BN candidate against a PAS/PR candidate. Could the Makkal Sakti party be a game-changer as far as Malaysian Indians are concerned? If it is, then Najib has pulled a trump card out of his hat and proved himself to be a wily political strategist.

It seems to me that the "brains" in the PR coalition are sorely lacking in strategies, tactics and game plans.

I note also that Anwar, Kit and the other notables in PKR and DAP chose to stay well clear of Bagan Pinang, leaving to PAS to do the heavy lifting. So are Anwar, Kit et al just "NATO"?
