Investigate new line-up, says Rais

Walk the talk, new Mr President. Rais Yatim has proposed that the party's disciplinary committee investigate the new members of the Umno Supreme Council, some of whom "have hardly touched ground with real politics, yet they're in". Read story here.

I mentioned at least one name here but do read Nor Hasilah's (blogger Asam Pedas) commentary Keputusan MT yang mengejutkan.

Will Najib order a probe?

There's also talk about police reports being lodged against new Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, who was found guilty by the committee a few days before the Umno elections but let off with a warning. And there's the question about Ali Rustam, who was found guilty and barred from contesting the No 2 post but gets to keep his position as the Chief Minister of Melaka.

Will there be a thorough investigation after the assembly?

The Umno General Assembly ended today. For the record, I was nowhere near PWTC, the venue of the assembly. No passes were offered to bloggers and on-line portals for "security reason".

If they don't investigate immediately, then Najib credibility will crash in less than 100 days, don't dream of honey moon, don't dream of change, don't dream of transformation.

Last 4 days of debate and speeches will end as tok kok onli. and anwar will continue his nonsense

Dang, bro. Was hoping to ride on your tailcoats and get some good snapshots. BTW bro, what do you think of this? Proper flag etiquette? Wonder what would we do if CCP or Thai Rak Thai did the same with ours...

    Why bother investigate?
Will the decision by the investigators be accepted?
Look at previous decisions - for indications.

The funny thing was, when the investiagtion outcome was announced - many in UMNO were not happy!

Many even shouted 'Rasuah' a number of times after KJ was declared winner.

UMNO members cannot even accept decisions by own investigation panel.

    Very obedient?

Anyway, this is party that Rocky wanted to join.

Tell us your membership number Rocky. Maybe we may have luck using permutations from that number if we 'invest' in the legal numbers games!

    Thank you

I presume what he meant by investigate is to INVESTIGATE thoroughly..

    1. We dont want leaders like EliWong, BSelambau Aney, Teresa Kok, Tian Hua, Bai and anak2, Anwar (with their strange cultures, tak tau dari mana mereka pungut) sending unethical wrong messages. They represent US and our younger generations. Not merely Non Muslims, but MUSLIMS who are majorities here.

    2. Check their origins. Jangan pula asal usul dari keturunan yang Birthcert/ IC palsu/curi, to sneak into Malaysia. When things go wrong, hilangkan diri balik sembunyi kat negara asal..

    3. Qualification. Not to be rude, we really need those who will inject fresh new ideas and CONTRIBUTE, bukan sekadar jadi POSMAN dan PAK TURUT aje.

    Anonymous,
The complete UMNO election system is flawed, the President should be elected to show he has the support of the grass roots. This handing over of the baton and the number of nominations needed to contest should be scrapped. This is a legacy of TDM and it was done to safe guard his position and power. Now the system has spawned corruption to an unimaginable proportion.
Letting of KJ after he is found guilty of money politics goes to show that the complete systems is flawed. KJ and his father in-law can say anything but we know he is guilty as hell, he won by evil means not because he commands any respect.
Same goes to Najib, how can anyone respect him as PM, he was not elected by popular votes, if the baton was handed over to Rais Yatim he will be PM, so whats the deal here ?
The next General Election will show if UMNO has any credibitly left, the last General election is not forgotten yet. Najib is but a snake in the grass, he will be the cause of the downfall of UMNO. He has done the unthinkable in Perak and what is there to stop him from buying the others. Satan may have his day now but in the end he will be defeated, God will deal with him at HIS own time, the dead will come back to haunt him, peace will not be his at any cost. Najib has no guts to fight the accusations, all he does is hide behind ISA like it is his weapon to use as he please. Down with UMNO and to hell with all the corrupt bastards elected this week.

  15. Pemilihan Umno ( Bah. 1)

Bagus. Tapi , maaf nak kata kedengaran sangat ‘superficial’, ‘tak jive’ kata orang muda sekarang. Sejak Pak Lah melancarkan Islam Hadhari, sememangnya sampai sekarang rakyat tak faham pun apa dia konsep ini, kenapa perlu bina masjid tak berkariah dan monumen-monumen yang menelan jutaan ringgit. Nak tarik pelancong?
Saya suka ambil satu idea dari panel iaitu kurangkan big talk, lebihkan small talk.. less big ideas, more small ones. Islam adalah agama kita,’Islam is a way of life’. Jadikan juga sebagai ‘the way of UMNO’. Apa dia tiang seri UMNO, lu pikirlah sendiri….

This is really worrying because it has almost reached a stage like the story of "The boy who cries wolf." It looks like DSN & TSMY have to do something least expected
by the public...only then people will change their perception about UMNO and ultimately the government,
otherwise people will say," I guess as much."

To DSN & TSMY,they should try their level best to impress the masses that business is NOT as usual by ensuring that MACC and PDRM work independently without fear or favour. The opposition will definitely take the slightest advantage of the slightest flaw and start pointing their fingers. This is definitely a tough task ahead but if it has to be done,it has to be done.

    will forget."

Off-topic Bro but still related to UMNO...dan orang Melayu...

After failing abjectly in his attempt to humiliate the Perak Royal household, someone is resorting to playing the race card in a desperate bid to re-energise a flagging dreasm:

    http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/101176

Sounds to me a desperate and pathetic attempt to play to the gallery by assuming the saviour of democracy role. Me thinks ground realities are hitting home the fact that the local Malay populace are leery of voting for this charlatan and thus he is playing the race card banking on the fact that the Chingkie may vote for him given his half-chingkie roots.

Will it be a case of yet another blood-curdling scream of frustrated angst now that the Malay polity has wised up to the antics of this traitor? Now is the time for the Malays to realise what the chingkies are plotting behind the scenes or do the Malays really care?

Thanks for the link to Nor Asilah's article on her blog: an intelligent and a well-considered analysis. She mentioned something about a moral giant in UMNO politics who lost. You mentioned about him too in an earlier article, expressing your regret. So did one or two of your blog's commentators. I think I should mention about him as well, as his lost represented not only a shock, but also perhaps the saddest outcome of the recent UMNO elections.

This is what Nor Asilah says about the defeat of Shahrir Samad: "saya terkejut kerana dia salah seorang Menteri yang betul-betul buat kerja." An even bigger compliment comes from Raja Petra, who says "No one is exempted from the crime of vote buying [in the recent UMNO elections], except maybe Shahrir Samad. And that is why he is resigning, because he is clean." There's much talk about eradicating "money politics" in UMNO, but we all know it's just that: talk.

With the defeat of Shahrir, I think we should also say goodbye to any future attempt by the party to get away from money politics, unless, as you yourself said, Rocky, the voting system is changed to one-member-one-vote, and voting is not only open to those who are important enough to attend the Annual Assembly. But will the voting system be changed? I doubt. If it is changed, Najib himself will be defeated. So will he allow it? I don't think so.

I fully agree with ICAC and HARAPANBARU.Yes,do a thorough investigation and to add,it must be done without fear or favour.

Start with the BIG ones in GLCs especially TM,PETRONAS,SD,MAYBANK, MAB(MAAH). GOVERNMENT AUDIT,MACC AND PDRM should form the A-TEAM to expedite investigations.

As for the UMNO election,I am not too sure whether KJ really has won the KP post. From the 3 cornered fight,KJ did not secure 50% of the total votes, meaning in totality, he did not have the majority. A comfortable win should be 50% + 1, then one can conclude that the candidate has won.If it is one to one fight, its different, even the majority is just by ONE vote,he wins. I hope that in future, any political party should adopt this system; 50% + 1.

I am not too sure whether DSN & TSMY had good night sleep after the election with all the issues facing our country right now.As responsible citizens,we have to play our role and contribute no matter how small it maybe.Areas of great concern are:-
    1.Corruption and money politics.
    2.Gangsterism in schools.
    3.Drugs abuse.
4.MAT REMPIT - Reopen Pulau Jerejak for these menacing groups.
5.Revive death penalty to those in possession of firearms and offensive weapons regardless of what they are used for.An armed robber upon conviction should go to the gallows, not just put into prison cell for robbery.
6.Teachers can be members of any political party but should not be holding any political posts. They should be full time with students
to avoid any conflict of interest.
    7.Revive the JURY system.

Don't forget that one of Malaysia's own "nattering nabobs of negativism" (with apologies to William Safire and the late Spiro Agnew) is poised to re-join Umno in the very near future.

This is the same nabob who opined that Datuk Seri Najib has to be "firm" (which, in this nabob's vocabulary, means "not necessarily oppressive").

Not forgetting, of course, another Umno luminary who was reported to have recently pontificated that Malaya gained it's independence through the efforts of Umno and the Malay rulers. I suppose that in this particular luminary's mind, the Alliance coalition was a convenient fig leaf for Umno supremacy?

It doesn't matter, lah. Neither the nabob nor the luminary has a clue how to turn the Malaysian economy around in the teeth of the current adverse winds.

Well, maybe, the nabob has some form of track record. The luminary is more noted for waving his implement around.

    Dear sdra Rocky's Bru,

The recently concluded PAU 2008 from 24-28 March, will definitely remain in the party's historical annals and the archive.

The UMNO General Assembly had captured local and worldwide attention, including the presence of a few dozen media representatives, TV stations as well as party representatives from more than 20 countries.

UMNO has indeed won the moral support from all those friendly nations, both at the opening session as well as the historical closing session that had provided the reconciliation platform to unite the Tun Mahathir and Pak Lah, the outgoing UMNO president and 5th prime minister.

Politics is all about perceptions tinged with the element of greed in order to possess power and future political patronage and networking. This perception is not only confined to local party members and supporters, but also those political comrades from friendly countries.

Therefore, it is a natural presumption that money politics became the order of the day and the talk of the town, even before the start of the aggressive lobbying and campaigns at branch and divisional levels up to the central party election, for all the UMNO wings and the members for the Supreme Council.

I fully concurred with the strong conviction expressed by Dr. Rais Yatim that the various UMNO investigating authorities, including MACC should continue to investigate the new line-up of party elected leaders as well as members of the Supreme Council.

I believe the investigations are on going process even after the results of the party election,in line with the aspirations of the newly elected UMNO president in order to reduce or wipe out money politics in the party.

I am also convinced that Dato Sri Najib is seriously committed to changes in the party as well as to review some important aspects of the UMNO Constitution so as to ensure greater transparency and party management with absolute integrity.

UMNO including BN component parties have to undergo drastic changes in their political system, otherwise the people will enforce the changes of power and governance through the ballot boxes. It's either UMNO/BN rules with majority in the next 13th general election or will be phased out after 55 years of power and governance.

As a senior party supporter and observer way back in the early 60s, I sincerely urge all leaders and senior members of UMNO/BN to heed the advice of new president UMNO and also in his coveted capacity as the succeeding prime minister, to embark on a political campaign that will accentuate the changes that will be the main agenda and focus of Dato Sri Najib as the Head of Government and party President for both UMNO /BN by convention.

Fucked faced arsetorn Skillgannon 1066, why run away from your "economic" dog shit.. shame on you for leaving behind your poo for everyone to boo

You come here to twist facts in the wind again...skilly? arsehole!..

Fact is independence was won on Malay sacrifice.. the chingkie got into the act in 1949 (when MCA was formed..by a Peranakan..not a pure bred)once the Chingkie realised the commie dream was over and he had to clothe his raped arse considering the fact that 4 years back in 1945 he was gleefully conducting the first ever large scale ethnic cleansing in malayan history (them malays, the victims of the bastard chin Peng scum). In fact, the MCA founder is on record of having connived with the Commies to finish off us Malays. read page 2 of this:

    http://www.tourism-melaka.com/emelakainfo/TUN%20TAN%20CHENG%20LOCK.pdf

(for pre-101 starter brains like you)

Knowing that he had been exposed and fearing his annihilation, the Chingkie conspired to form a party and gatecrash the independence march. It is also on record that the then IMP boss Onn Jaafar also had suspicions of the intentions of the chingkie scum...go to page 3 of the same article.and to circumnavigate this gridlock, the Chingkie changed alliances and teamed up with the Tunku ( a chingkie lovva..himself wish there had been someone tougher helming hings back then) and the rest is history..In fact, chingkie olok2 buat alliance as his main aim was citizenship status (read page 3, somewhere in the middle).

There are other academic books on the subject, Skilly like these ( for starters):

1.Milne, R.S and Diane K. Mauzy (1980):"Politics and Government in Malaysia"

    2. Vasil, R.K : "Ethnic Politics in Malaysia" , Radiant Publishers

Thus, Hisham is right to a large extent and chingkie efforts to erase their atrocities and change the narrative of Malaysian history is bound to founder simply because some of us had the good fortune of being bequethed a repository of books and documents related to that era by our "prescient" forefathers

Skilly, you mealy mouthed babi.. dont ever denigrate Tun Dr M - statesman par excellence (despite his warts and all). just read two pages (189-190)of this tome written by a chingkie scum:

Malaysia: the making of a nation
By Boon Kheng Cheah, Institute of Southeast Asian Studies
Published by Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, 2002
    ISBN 9812301542, 9789812301543
    264 pages
and i paraphrase : instrumental in almoat quadrupling malaysia's GNP from 27B in 1981 to more than 100B today
(2002)..... reducing poverty from 30% to 7%. transforming an agricultural , commodity based economy into a technological and knowledge based one...(now who did all this.. Anwar..my shit! LKS..my arse, Nik aziz ..my sneeze, K.Singh..my ding-a-ling.. skilly...my willy...LOL)

the record speaks for itself, that's why i have no qualms he comes back as PM despite his shortcomings * who hasnt a skeleton ...anyway..only spineless ones like you Skilly and your chingkie lovvas)
