BREAKFAST AT SUBANG AIRPORT

2pm update ... "What's to fear? Let me speak up." "Nak takut apa? Bagilah peluang saya cakap."

In London, Dr M said he was barred from addressing Malaysian students there. But this morning the crowd urged him on. "Hidup Mahathir!" "Depa dah penin, Tun!" "Hidup Malaysia" "Cakap Tun, cakap! We will listen to you!"

RPK of Malaysia Today brought along 1,500 copies of the Mencari Kebenaran DVD of the former PM's famous dialogue at the Kelab Century Paradise on June 24.

"We gave out all of them this morning," he said.

"I didn.t get a copy," someone said. "Ada lagi bro?"

"Sorry mate .. but there you are!" RPK said. Of course, some papers will not report the correct numbers, he added.

In view of the size of the crowd, the airport authorities could not let them into the Bunga Mawar terminal. Dr M had to meet the people at the car park outside the entrance. He addressed them out of the sunroof of a battered Mitsubishi Pajero without even a bullhorn.

But he took the bull by the horns, alright.

"Just answer my questions, no need to publish a booklet. Declassify those letters that say Malaysia offered sand to Singapore. Why declassify my letters. My letters don't say anything and they have been declassified by Singapore a long time ago.

"Apa nak takot. Jawab sajalah ..."

Original post...
When Abdullah Ahmad Badawi came home from his vacation in Australia the other day, some 5,000 people were there to show their support for the Prime Minister, or so claimed some newspapers (and some newspapers can't even get its own circulation numbers right).

Of course, Dr M can't expect as many people to be at the welcome-home reception, if there is one (Gen-M says there is one).

More than a hundred would be news; he ain't the PM anymore, y'know.

200 atau 1000 orang? Anda Putuskan

Malaysiakini dakwa hanya 200 orang hadir.

Turut kelihatan beberapa Ketua UMNO Bahagian.

Tis a sad day for us all that a Statesman like Tun Dr Mahathir is being treated so badly by people in power, people with power. Is our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi so blind to this?. I feel so sorry for the PM when he retires. If they can do this to TUn Dr Mahathir, the greatest leader Malaysia ever had, I cant imagine how they are going to treat him.

Bru, this thing won't end. It's not about Mahathir anymore. In fact it was never about Mahathir. It was and is about issues. About the people not getting the true picture. About the people being told untruths. About Ministers and the media thinking that the people are stupid. You don't want Mahathir to be seen in the company of oppositions, give him the Umno platform. But even in London, a foreign country, he was stopped from speaking to Umno club members. What openess is this? What freedom?

  5. Apa ada pada jumlah?!

Saya teringat Mahfuz Omar cerita kat saya; masa jumpa Ahli Parlimen Pasir Putih yang dalam satu flight dgn dia sebab depa nak pi sambut PM balik dari Ostolia, Mahfuz kata kat MP Pasir Putih: "Ni Pak Lah pun tau semua pembohong ja ni... Masa jadi PM semua sambut, semua cium tangan.. Macam Dr Mahathir kata la..." Pastu depa pakat-pakat gelak.

Sebelum tu, Mahfuz jumpa Ahli Parlimen Tanah Merah. Dia tanya, "Nak pi sambut Pak Lah ka?" Kawan tu pun mengaku la. Nak pi mana lagi?!

MP Tanah Merah tu tanya plak Mahfuz, "datang dari mana?"

Walaupun sekepin VCD Dr Mahathir pun dia tak bawak masa pi Kelantan, Mahfuz terus jawab, "Saja mai Kelantan nak bagi-bagi VCD Dr Mahathir.."

"Bahaya tu!" kata MP Tanah Merah.

Dulu Dr Mahathir bagai wira, la ni bahaya!

Bro, saya ambik sikap yang sama dgn Mat Sabu kerana "Dr Mahathir bukannya mengecam Presiden Umno kerana beliau tidak bersetuju Tan Sri Muhammad Mohd Taib dilantik sebagai Ketua Penerangan Umno misalnya, tetapi beliau mengecam Perdana Menteri kerana mendakwa tidak menjalankan tugasnya dan mendakwa pula Abdullah membiarkan pegawai-pegawai di tingkat empat Jabatan Perdana Menteri yang dikatakan dikuasai menantunya Khairy Jamaluddin mentadbir negara dan Khairy pula dituduh sebagai agen Singapura".

  6. Yes, Anon, I was there. I'd put it around 1,000. The crowd was spread out, which is why some may have underestimated the size of the crowd. When Dr M spoke, there were fewer than 500 people within earshot, and this could be the figure Malaysiakini cited. Dr M wasn't even using a hailer so not all those 300 in front of him could hear every word. The car park outside the old VIP terminal was full and people were parking their vehicles along the main expressway leading to the Subang International airport. Some parked their cars at the Petronas depot and walked to the car park.
You can tell the event was not coordinated, orchestrated, or even properly oraganised (an organiser would have thought of the hailer!). The people who turned out mostly wanted to turn up to see the old man and give him their encouragement.

Mahathir came home, he defended the nation's honor. That's the mark of a statesman.
He did his last major medical at National Heart Institute. He believes in his people.
People presented him horses. He presented them to riding clubs for people to ride. The mark of a generous man.
He came home. People welcomed him. They got nothing but risk. SB was at Subang in number. But they made joke about their assignment.
Pak Lah came home, he defended Khairy. That's the mark of a penyayang father-in-law.
He had sinusitis he got Aussie doctors to treat him. One Jojos' doctors, I was told. Malaysian doctors are not good enough.
His son-in-law rode a horse and was thrown off. The mark of a poor rider and a clever horse.
Khairy can ride on Hishammuddin Onn and Umno Youth but not on a horse. A horse is a very knowledgeable animal.
Your went to welcome Abdullah, the SB won't bother you. That shows the power is with you.
In the meantime, the Israelis and their American political "slaves" are killing the Arabs with impunity.
    Where is Oh I See?

Tis a sad day for us all that a Prime Minister like AAB is being treated so badly by a former Primer Minister - a citizen, though not so common. Is our former Prime Minister Dr M so blind to this?. I feel so sorry for the PM when he is trying his best to right what was wrong - trying to correct the excesses fo the past 2 decades. Didn't Tun Dr Mahathir helm this country for 22 years? Isn't 22 years long enough? Is he still trying to run the country?

When TDM retired, he should know that he cannot expect the kind of treatment that he used to when he was the prime minister. The same goes to any senior govt official, you will not be welcome when you go back to your former office. I know a senior official from KL who had served all over the country, when he retired, he had to call his junior staff in Sabah to help him on matters that he could easily solved in KL.
