It's things like this that the Malays have to wake up. No point blaming Lee Kuan Yew. No point blaming the Chinese or the Indians. There is only one colour of money, and it isn't based on race.

If you believe in Islam, then why do the things that are illegal and contrary to the teachings of the Prophet ? Isn't stealing from the rakyat a crime ? Isn't telling lies a crime ?

If you want to be religious, be religious on ALL fronts. Don't be religious by praying 5 times a day. Be religious when it comes to truth, fairness and probity.

Is history going to be repeated again in Tabung Haji?

Two Former Tabung Haji General Managers Jailed

    TUESDAY, AUGUST 25, 2009, 19:18

Former Tabung Haji general managers Datuk Mohd Amin Sidek and Datuk Mohammad Shafie have been ordered to start their ten year jail sentence starting on Tuesday.

Datuk Mohamad Shafie (left) and Datuk Mohd Amin Sidek, former senior general managers in Tabung Haji. They were prosecuted for six counts of cheating and criminal breach of trust involving RM400 million.

Judicial Commissioner Zainal Azman Ab Aziz made the order after rejecting arguments and reasons for a stay of execution by defence counsel Mohd Firuz Jaffril and V. Rajadevan.

Mohd Amin and Mohammad Shafie were sentenced to ten years’ jail each for committing criminal breach of trust (CBT) and cheating involving RM200 million eight years ago.

The High Court yesterday allowed a temporary stay of execution for arguments in court on Tuesday.
Zainal Azman agreed with Deputy Public Prosecutor Dzulkifli Ahmad that there was no special situation to allow a stay of execution.

“I find that there is no special situation or factors which the court can consider like their health which need continuous medical treatment or service not available at hospitals.

“There is no special situation like that in the case of Kartika Dewi which was deferred due to Ramadan,” said Zainal Azman.

Earlier, Dzulkifli said the fact that it was the first offence for the accused was not an important factor which the court could consider.

He objected to the argument by defence counsel Firuz that the court should consider their ages, nearing 60 years, as a factor.

“There are a lot of 60 year-olds in jail for various cases. This is not a valid reason,” he said.
Dzulkifli said he sympathised with them for wanting to fast with family members but it was not a strong reason for a stay of execution.

Family members of Mohd Amin and Mohammad Shafie were later seen entering the temporary lockups in tears before they were sent to Kajang prison. — BERNAMA

    Rocky,

The price tag is RM400mn, so the RM38mn commission to the executive of this islamic fund is VERY REASONABLE! So the main question is who is this lucky EXECUTIVE?

how can you assume that the top management exec is making 38m? what if the property was bought by TH at way below market price hence any commission is not forthcoming? in the real estate business a broker will always earn some form of negotiated commission so why can't we just assume that's is a normal transaction involving agents? why must we always assume that the key executive acting on behalf of TH is making something for agreeing to buy this property? do you know that such investments are not decided by just one person? it's a multi tier deliberation by committees and 3rd party evaluations. if you are assuming that someone is making money for approving this then it should be all of them right? all 20-30 of them? is this even possible??

Please state your facts and confirmed findings rather than just assumptions. who are you talking about and who is related to who? if you can already insinuate such things then you should be able to state all facts - names, relationships, proof of transaction etc. If not then I suggest you don't defame people just like that. your act is not noble.

Is there such a thing as a halal Standard for Hotels in Malaysia.

I don't believe there is such a thing as a halal hotel.

The abandoned Hyatt is on the wrond side of the road. Plus next to the struggling Renaissance/New World Hotel.
Also how to ensure 100% halal? If people sneak in booze into the room or have illicit sex there, can consider still halal?
Whatever the case, Duta Yap will snap off the hand that offers to buy that abandoned project off him.

    Rocky,

There will be 2 "HOTEL HALAL" to be undertaken by this Islamic Fund, one in Kuala Terengganu and the other in Alor Star. There is no logical reasoning for the Islamic Conglomerate to venture into the obviously non-syariah hotel business except for the senior executives are too greedy making money for themselves. Please dig further and you will be surprised how corrupted they are.

    Dear Rocky,

Last Friday (11 Feb 2011), the Investment Panel of this Islamic Fund, chaired by Datuk A@&z%n has decided to KIV the management's proposal of acquiring the 5-star Hotel. During the meeting, Mr Chairman said with a British-wannabe accent, "We will only invest in project with good fundamental". Obviously the Investment Panel is not impressed with the 5-star hotel in KL. Bravo! But, what about the other 2 hotels that the Islamic Fund will venture into, one in Alor Star, and the other one in Kuala Terengganu? Does that mean the hotel business in Alor Star and Kuala Terengganu is considered as GOOD FUNDAMENTAL by the Investment Panel? C'mon, where is the consistency here? Or is it because no one, including this blog, has never make noise before? I hope Datuk Rocky would be kind enough to dig further into this unknown hotel venture in Kedah and Terengganu.

    Rocky,

CEO + wife + Special Officer, Minister + Wife + Political Sec, Chairman + Wife, CFO, SGM of this Islamic Fund are currently in Europe. Purpose of overseas travelling is company visit.

The Islamic Fund invested in a company based in Zurich by the name of Pelikan. What is worrying why bring one batallion for the company visit? All expenses are paid by the Islamic Fund. Is there any need for the Minister, Chairman and their wives to be there in the first place? They've flew to Europe since last Wed and should be back in KL next wed. Not only they visited Zurich, but also ended up in Germany and now they are in PARIS!...WTF!

Obviously the CEO is doing PR job licking his bosses' arses 365 degrees. Oh, one more thing, why the CFO needs to be there as well? Is it bcos she needs to sign cheques for "miscellaneous" expenses aka "more shopping" for the VIPS' wives. No wonder every year they can't provide breakfast for jemaah haji under Muasasah. Too much MISCELLANEOUS expenses..!!

So next time if the Minister or Chairman make media announcement of higher price to perform hajj due to rising operating costs and what-not, please throw selipar jepun at his face! Those fuckers don't really care about the welfare of the jemaah, they are nothing but a discgrace to Muslims in Malaysia. Perhaps your good friend Syed Akbar Ali can start investigating about this sickening matter in Tabung Haji.

Amin.
