It's official, ntv7 withdraws support for Blair forum

The people of Malaysia's gathering against Tony Blair and sponsors/organizers of the forum is ON!

Venue: Sunway Lagoon Hotel
Time: 9 am
Date: 24 April 2010, Saturday

Feel Good Channel doesn't feel too good about Blair. Media Prima, which owns ntv7, has written to the organisers of "Leading the Future" forum that its "Feel Good" channel will not be supporting the forum as the official tv channel. Kudos to Ahmad A. Talib and gang. This was confirmed to me just a while ago by a spokesman from the Perdana Global Peace Organisation, which is leading the anti-Blair movement tomorrow.
For more details on tomorrow's protest, read Sepasang Sliper untuk Tony Blair.

  6. CUKUPLAH...JANGAN BERI MEREKA PELUANG LAGI

    1) Elizabeth Wong, jadi YB tapi terkangkang atas sofa...papar seluruh dunia

    2) Teresa Kok, jadi YB terus panggang BABI lima ekor, mansuh tulisan jawi, pakai skirt masuk masjid & persoalkan azan di Masjid Kinrara 5.

    3) Ronnie Liu, jadi YB kemudian benarkan jual arak & rumah maksiat. Halang penguatkuasa agama buat serbuan.

    4) Xavier Jayakumar, tuntut kuil besar & cemarkan kesucian masjid bila berkhutbah di mimbar masjid dalam bulan puasa.

    5) Khalid Samad, jadi YB sahaja terus izinkan Kristian guna kalimah Allah dalam gereja. Mahu mansuh enakmen agama Selangor.

Frankly, what do you expect from Ahmad Talib. This guy is pathetic. He is always in a daze. I think Rocky makes a better CEO than him.

  12. sebagai media NTV7 tidak wajar menarik diri sebagai media rasmi majlis tony blair.it is not fair.sebagai media yang berperanan menyampai maklumat tidak matang lah kalau ambil "SIDE". media should be IMPARTIAL. jangan jadikan ia 'PRECEDENT' untuk masa hadapan.bayangkan kalau media masing masing buat PREFERENCE dan mengikut precedent yang telah di set oleh NTV7.

  14. If there is anyone we should vehemently protest against it is Umno. So why arent we protesting against a party which strangles the press, obstructs freedom and what not? We should be ashamed of ourselves. In the meantime, I apologise on behalf of the real Malaysia to Mr Blair, one of the greatest statesmen of the past century.

  15. Dear Rocky,

Im very curious as to why you are conspicuously silent on the resignation of ntv7 Senior Producer, Joshua Wong, on the grounds of 'political interference' within Media Prima. There have been countless stories about this on other blogs and yet, despite being a tireless supporter of press freedom, there isn't so much as a squeak from you.

    Can you kindly explain why?

  16. Hi Sheahnee,

Thanks, checked your blog but there wasn't a word on Joshua's resignation, either. Please point me to the blogs that have gone to town with the news of his resignation. Or does Joshua has a blog I can refer to?

I heard that he resigned supposedly because Rosmah, the PM's wife, wasn't happy with his program (?). That's admirable but Joshua could be giving Rosmah too much credit.

I have been in newsrooms for over two decades. No wife of a PM has ever interfered in our editorial decisions.

Machais, maybe, and these days everyone has a machai.

  17. Dear Rocky,

My blog is strictly for my baby and I will not contaminate it with anything political, much less to do with my job.

I dont know about the newsrooms you've worked with but you've obviously never worked in mine.

Here are a couple of links for your reading pleasure.
