Khalid Ibrahim's honeymoon nearly over

Khalid: Allegations of graft unfounded

SHAH ALAM: Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said yesterday that an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Agency has cleared one of his senior aides of involvement in graft.

“The allegations of graft were unfounded,” Khalid told reporters after chairing the weekly exco meeting.

However, the officer in question will be asked to attend a seminar or course on integrity and responsibility so that he would be more careful when carrying out his duties in future, he added.

Original posting
A secret relationship and a police report.
Just read Hubungan Rahsia Khalid Ibrahim dan Lim Kim Hong (Khalid Ibrahim and Lim Kim Hong's Discreet Ties) by blogger A Voice. I am not surprised with Khalid's close ties with a tycoon like Kim Hong. Khalid, after all, was a leading corporate player, especially in the 80s and 90s, and is remembered till today for his roles at PNB and Guthrie.

But a police report lodged against an aide of the Menteri Besar, as reported by tabloid Sinar Harian last Friday (June 4), is quite a shocker. The police report was lodged by 4 members of PKR (Khalid's own party) from Kuala Selangor, Tanjong Karang and Shah Alam.

The 4 went to the cops to report the award of tenders and contracts to 4 companies in Petaling Jaya by the aide, without the knowledge of the Menteri Besar. That's crooked, man!

As a Selangor native (permanent address & family still in Selangor)... I'd say that Khalid is not doing a spectacular job.

But he's still better than the past few UMNO MB's especially Toyo and Mat Taib. Under these two guys, millions (if not billions) of state money were embezzled into their wallets, and of their own cronies.

At least Hassan Omar was OK.

Now the "jobless" Toyo is trying to scare the Muslims to gain support. He's twisting the Selangor gov's plan to end restrictions on building non-Muslim places of worship... such as a limitation of 10000 sq-feet. Anyone gonna write about that or do you want me to do it?

Demo lagi:Ingat Minyak.....sekarang, kita jangan jadi hangat2 taik minyak....

Jangan lupa janji kita 13 Jun 2008, selepas solat jumaat.

No body knows the 4. They said they are PKR members but they are not even known and no body met them. How comes they refused to come out and meet the commission that was set up to meet them to investigate the crooked officer who is said to have forged the letterhead of the Mentri Besar's Office? Let's see.

if this was khir toyo's administration, there woud'nt even be a police report, coz there is nothing wrong with 'bribery' in UMNO,.. and thats how they work

Khalid Ibrahim's stint in Selangor is never a Honeymoon as your title suggested. But I have more confidence in the PR Govt in S'gor after seeing the Check & Balance within the party.
As you've reported "without the knowledge of the Menteri Besar". Any irregularies in awarding tenders should be dealt with accordingly in compliance to the law and with transparencies.
Members of BN in BN controlled states should emulated this fine example.

  10. On top of that, what's more crooked is the fact that the present Selangor Government has yet to honor their promises made during the G.E, reduction in cukai pintu and the free water for the first 20 cubic meters.

Why has these facts been left out by bloggers and websites ?

Give the Selangor Government of Pakatan Rakyat some chance!

After 50 years, they are taking over from BN.

They have to learn the ropes of administrating a state.

They are hindered by the BN from the Federal level.

They are trying their best sincerely, as far as I see, being a Selangor resident.

Rome wasn't built in a day.

Kenapa rakyat macam kera diberi bunga?

    Jangan!

Sabar, bagi peluang, mari kita ubah Malaysia perlahan-lahan.

I would say , so far, he and his team have done a fantastic job and walk the talk by going down the people . The botoxed Toyo and his arrogance team ( especially the fat idiot from Kota Dsara) are a bunch of "rapists". Just look at how much of our forest reserve have been "raped" by them ? Mat Tyson was the pioneer in this. Most of them are fat, greasy and useless to rakyat.
Without "gravy", BN especially Umno will be history. They are there to "rape" and not to serve.
I would give PKR another 100 years to recover from the 50 years of "rapes" by BN.

    Dear PR,
    The solution is here:
To set up a task-force on the formation of the Ombudsman office, who would receive complaints and investigate allegations of mismanagement, maladministration, corruption, abuse of power and the misuse or misappropriation of public funds.

    The Ombudsman will:

    1. Act as an agent for systemic change in the public sector by identifying the causes of problems. That person will make recommendations for changes in procedures, practices, policies and/or legislation on issues of governance and financial affairs of the State
    2. Establish an effective system for handling and resolving complaints, and
develop feedback system as a means to improve the way in which things are done.
    3. Ensure accessibility to the community and provide a platform to air complaints and grievances about the State administration.
    4. Initiate investigations into activities of State agencies, statutory authorities and local government. This is done upon acting on a complaint, or of its own accord even if no specific complaint had been received.
    5. Use the power of persuasion and reasoned arguments when making substantive recommendations to the State Legislative Assembly.
    6. This position should not be a political appointment. It should be carried out through an open and rigorous appointment process that has the confidence of the public.

Pasal minyak nih, kalau pada ketika 1 juta rakyat Msia mengisi minyak memaki sial lah PAK LAH kerana menaik kan harga minyak, maka sial lah hidup Pak Lah nih. Jadi Pak Lah sila letak jawatan. Dengan adanya Pak Lah kehidupan rakyat makin mundur, banyak perkara yang perlu disacrifice kan walhal kehidupan Pak Lah dan keluarga semakin senang. Pak Lah dan keluarga nak runsing apa, duit reserve dalam akaun masih-masih menjangkau jutaan ringgit, yang rakyat ni diibaratkan seperti kais pagi makan pagi kais petang makan petang, gaji yang diterima tipa bulan pada akhir bulannya habis diguna untuk perbelanjaan kehidupan harian keluarga. Pernahkah Pak Lah berfikir begitu??

    Rocky,
Without prejudice, I find the spin towards Khalid Ibrahim is rather wake.

What is the offence of being associated with Businessman Lee or being old pals? Lee is in business for so many years as he is the founder of local brand "Pensonic". His project 'iCity' kicked off even before Khalid came into office.

Too bad, Khalid's aide is 'dumb' enough in trying to pull off such scam, thus let the investigation take it's process.

Am sure we have seen worst 'fianancial rapes' and 'abuses' right in front of our eyes. Thus, we have to take this chance on this guy. Rocky, give this guy a break....

Let us not be bias and look at things objectively. If Khalid is not doing a good job, let us be frank about it and hope he and his staff will buck up, if we want to see changes that is. Don't give excuses for him..he is human after all. Don't keep on comparing with the previous administration. We want him to deliver his promises..has he and can he deliver them? If he can't, why not? When will he deliver what he had promised.Focus on what is happening now..and the future..use the past as a lesson to create changes ..not an excuse to a not up-to-par present administration.

Macam mana saya nak tukar gaya hidup saya?
Jadi macam mana saya nak tukar gaya hidup saya???

  26. Dear Rocky,

The following is published by Lim Kit Siang in his blog.

I agree with him view regarding the sacking of En. Sanusi, that political reasons should not motivate the selecting or sacking of a person:

Sanusi sacked as UIA President - Abdullah not ready for “1st-world infrastructure, 1st-world mentality”

The sacking of Sanusi Junid, who was formerly Cabinet Minister, Kedah Mentri Besar and Umno secretary-general, as International Islamic University (UIA) president because he had left Umno together with former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, is most shocking, deplorable and testimony that the Abdullah administration is not ready for a “first-world infrastructure, first-world mentality” culture to catapult Malaysia into the ranks of fully developed nations.

The UIA termination letter dated June 2 but which Sanusi received only yesterday (eight days later) did not give any reason for the abrupt sacking although his contract is not due to expire for another two years.

It would appear that quitting Umno has become a proper reason for the sacking of administrators and academicians in Malaysian universities.

Shouldn’t the authorities adopt a “hands-off” policy on the political inclinations of university administrators or academicians so long as they do not allow their political affiliations to intrude into their university duties?

An explanation is clearly called for from Abdullah for Sanusi’s sacking from UIA.

About Khalid Ibrahim, I was one of the participants of the many Businesses seminars and attended many talks given by the then PNB CEO, way back when I was young and so was he in the 1980s. I was with Perniagawati then . Khalid Ibrahim is definitely one of the product of the NEP.

We have known for so long of the fact that he has been a Coporate Figure and Guthrie etc. etc, etc

All these aside, BUT Now, I am waiting eagerly, well not actually looking forward to the twice yearly MBSA Assessment bills BUT curious to know - how much reduction will we all we get from this new Selangor State government as been promised to us during the recent general election.

I read in their manifesto it will be twently percent cut in all Cukai Pintu.
Alhamdulillah. Any little savings is welcome now.

The bills arrive every July and January. (Faithfully). Also Rocky, I am still waiting for that reduction in the water bill.

another shocking lead that you might be interested/ or might not. I was devastated as the story that i heard involved Pakatan Rakyap ADUN from Selangor.

Several Pakatan Rakyat ADUN have been given free trips or so called 'business trip' to Dubai a week back. This so called 'business trip' is fully paid by Puncak Niaga.

In a few weeks time, another 'business trip' will be made, this time around to Vienna. Datuk Hassan Ali will be going with several other ADUNs from Pakatan Rakyat, and fully paid, again by Puncak Niaga.

You can check with Puncak Niaga if you don't believe me.

Man, i thought they are fighting against each other but behind our back, they are making all these trips?

Nak tanya budak cina Brighteyes ...

Apa bukti dia tuduh berbillion2? Budget Selangor skrg pun baru setahun RM1 bil lebih? Giler main tuduh sebarangan?

Mana dia tahu Hasan Omar tu baik sangat, baru sekejap. Lupa ke dia diberhentikan kerana apa?

Lama Husin baca komen dia merata2. Penuh dengan prejudis dan tersirat perkauman. Selalu menyakitkan hati.

Siapa kenal dia, Husin wakilkan suruh kasi tumbuk.

Doraemon, FIne, you can blame on who initially issued the license.

But the point you fail to understand is that BN is no more in power. We have PAS there. Why not close it up?

"Negara Islam" must allow for rumah urat/maksiat then. Can't wait for hukum hudud ... yummy ... whip whip whip leather leather ... probably sadomasochism.

Or the real reason is Ronnie Liew, the mighty defender of rumah2 urut, don't agree. Any good lah ... with oil so expensive, no need to drive all the way go to Bkt Bintang for massage, and blow or hand service.

The popular notion is that DAP yg control Selangor and Perak ... PAS and PKR hanya puppet!!!!

Though the BN is no longer in power, sad to say that the local authority seems to heed to the call from the federal government rather than the state government.

  47. I just wonder how fast the ACA responded to these 4 guy's police report. They have submitted recommendations to AG as per yesterday. Isn't that the fastest ACA speed you see? That happens only when it is a non- BN. What happen to the Azalina, Khir Toyo, etc.'s police reports?

At the same time, Khalid came out asking ACA to permanently place a man in Selangor office to fight against corruption.

Rocky, i tot you have outlawed 'anonymous'for posting? Those who make allegations should be brave enougth to be known.
