The man who may be Malaysia's next Minister of Finance speaks up on "threshold bailout"

"Developers build too many high-end homes for the well-to-do"

KL, 241010: They sure don't make our national budgets like they used to. When the economy advisor to the Prime Minister starts taking jibes at his own Government's Budget 2020. you can only guess that not all the proposals in the Budget were thoroughly discussed with everybody that matters (if discussed at all!). And when a dirty word like "bail out" is used, you can't help wonder if someone who's part of the team that made the Budget was trying to smuggle some proposals which shouldn't be there.
Dr Muhammed Abdul Khalid's quarrel with Lim Guan Eng's budget concerns the proposal by the Minister of Finance to lower the threshold for property prices for foreigners from RM1 million to a mere RM600k. Guan Eng's excuse: developers haven't been able to sell.  The idea became very contentious immediately, largely because developers have the bad reputation of making too much out of house buyers. So-called affordable homes have not been affordable for quite a while now due to greed, corruption and poor planning. The PM had, at first, defended the proposal but Housing Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin's disclosure that the "threshold" was Guan Eng's Ministry's idea and had nothing to do with her ministry led to suspicions.
Because it was Zuraida, most people paid no heed.  But now the PM's Economic Advisor himself has spoken. And a lot of people tend to take the PM's Economic Advisor a lot more seriously. In fact, some people think Dr  Mo would make a better MOF than Guan Eng any day. I don't necessarily subscribe to that thought, of course.

I'll be more blunt, Bro.

In Penang, where a DAP-led state government has ruled since 2008, during which time Lim Guan Eng was Menteri Besar (Chief Minister),some people have come people have come to call the DAP the "Developers Action Party", for its tendency to favour property developers, even to the detriment of Penang's ecology, especially the hillslopes. In fact, the DAP-led Pakatan Penang state government appears to be worse in this respect than the Gerakan-led BN government it replaced in 2008.

This self-styled "democratic socialist" party, together with its Pakatan partners in state government, have apparently done very little to build more affordable houses for the lower income group, lower property prices in general or better still institute rent control, like any genuine democratic socialist or social-democratic party would do.

All their talk about "Malaysian Malaysia" is really about more opportunities - i.e. a more level playing field for their faction of capitalist supporters to get approvals and contacts, especially government or government-related contrats and approvals, in competition with BN-aligned faction of capitalists.

However, I am in favour of the Penang state government's plans for an LRT from KOMTAR to Bayan Lepas, with stations along the way also serving suburban areas lang the east coast of Penang island between George Town and Bayan Lepas, though I am not in favour of the three proposed man-made islands off the southern coast of Penang island. I also am in favour of the monorail lines between KOMTAR and Tanjung Bungah and between KOMTAR and Ayer Itam, as well as any bus-rapid transit routes provided they are on ELEVATED roadways such as the BRT between USJ7 LRT station and Bandar Sunway.

However, I am not in favour of the proposed highway running through the foothills of Penang Hill.

Also, they should improve the public transit and transport infrastructure serving the western coast of Penang island which faces the Straits of Malacca.

Liberalisma Islam, COMANGO, LGBT, Syiah Pluralisma Agama dijadikan asas rujukan.

KLU TAKUT DI LAMBUNG TAIK MANUSIA
JANGAN BERUMAH DI TEPI JAMBAN
ASALKAN ANAK CUCU KRONI KAYA RAYA
AGAMA AKIDAH JADI BARANG MAINAN

JADI SIVAJI THE BOSS KALAU JUMPA KAUM PARIA
GORENG PLURALIST MURTAD SYIAH LGBT DI JAJA AKHIRNYA

kahak puuuiiii..!!

One Step Closer [Chester Bennington:]

I cannot take this anymore
Saying everything I've said before
All these words: they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance
Less I hear the less you'll say
You'll find that out anyway

Just like before...

Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
I'm about to break

I find the answers aren't so clear
Wish I could find a way to disappear
All these thoughts: they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance
Nothing seems to go away
Over and over again

Just like before...

Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
I'm about to break

Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to... break!

Shut up when I'm talking to you
Shut up, shut up, shut up
Shut up when I'm talking to you
Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up
I'm about to break!
..!! SHUT UP..!! SHUT UP...!!
