Another tirade against another Menteri Besar for "not helping"

Anita Yusof stakes claim as
"first Muslim woman to ride solo around the world on a motorbike"

The Mole also wrote a piece based on the rider's Facebook entry after completing her 60,000km, 342-day solo ride. Read Biker Anita successfully circumnavigates the world.

Both portals, however, decided to downplay Anita's rants about the lack of help she got from the various authorities. In Azizulhasni Awang's thanks-for-not-helping fashion, the lecturer in Perak used her Facebook entry to lash out at, among others, a Menteri Besar for "giving me false hopes".

I'm happy for and proud of Anita for having achieved what most bikers could only daydream about. But I'm also feeling a little awkward here. Because I was the one who linked her up with the MOE (Ministry of Education) back then over her wish to be accorded a cuti bergaji (paid leave) status. And I also took her to meet the Menteri Besar (of a State she'd rather not mention) at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The MB had seemed genuinely interested in what Anita was setting out to accomplish ...

    Paid leave to pursue hobby?
The sense of entitlement of Melayu is unbelievable.

  2. Biasa la Dato Rocky....ahli politik memang pandai tanam tebu dibibir mulut.

Sendiri mau ride, sendiri tanggung lah.

Nobody forces you to go on that ride. You go based on your own free will. You should raise your own fund.

And why is it that my money and other taxpayer's money be accorded to specially for her when there are so other well-deserving citizen of this country that can be helped?

    Lemak lah this lady.

I bet her letter to various authorities will have the heading "Permohonan" and mentioned the word "bantuan". That does mean "hak" and "mesti beri".

Seldom the time it is not the Miister that is at fault but some government officer have other ideas or are complacent. Sometimes there are information apllicants do not tell publicly.

It is unfortunate that such commendable feat does not get much support when government waste money on events and even "makan-makan" for meetings and at Menteri level office.

However, should there be policies to determine what is the right criteria to sponsor such effort. Then again, if we have specific policies, there will be no flexibility.

    Dear Bro Rocky,

Just do the necessary la. Go ask that Menteri Besar what had happened after the meeting. U will always get the first hand info, won't u bro? After u got the info, reveal it here so we as the readers can get to know why she's lambasted the Menteri Besar.

  11. She is from MOE and to do a solo ride with paid leave would be somewhat contradicting, I think. Anyway, she is the one who has to prove her solo ride would contribute something to Malaysians and not the sponsors who have to prove why they ought to coffer up for her. Not in my intention to offend any biker here. Me a retired biker....

    Can't you read probably?
Or you don't understand Bahasa Malaysia.

She thanked the MOE for granting her unpaid leave.

You hatred for the Bumiputras must have made you blind.
