Living in Aedes country: Is your home in a dengue hot spot?

Epidemic proportions: 22 deaths in Jan alone

In Selangor alone, there are 107 so-called dengue hotspots. Puchong where I live has more than its share: BK3 is one of them and that's like just next door. I think it pays to know if you are living in a hotspot so you can take the necessary precautions.
Check your dengue exposure h e r e (click on the "Senarai Lokaliti").
Whatever it is Health Minister S. Subramaniam is going to do to fight Aedes and dengue, apart from telling us that 2014 is most probably going to be worse than the worst year as far as dengue deaths are concerned (2010: 134 deaths) and blaming the public, I hope he does it fast and with the people's interest in mind.

You get dengue when a mosquito bites an infected person and then bites you. So goes the new findings! It has nothing to do with the environment!!!!!!

I live in Kajang. Kajang is one of dirtiest town in Selangor.Same goes to it neighbouring town which under MPKJ. MPKJ which responsible the area of Hulu Langat didn't care about this problem. You can see many rubbish etc are being thrown beside the road.It might be dispose by 3rd world country lorry driver.
MPKJ are best only at collecting tax and quit rent. Pakatan only talk about politics but to manage the small townships your performance is Zero.MPKJ job is not only collecting waste but maintain the cleanliness and beautifying town.
You don't need to make a trip to Japan or Singapore to learn about cleanliness.
Just go to the south( Melaka )and learn from them how to make your state or town beautiful and clean.

As for dengue, Singapore also face the same problem.

The government has the right measures/policies to fight dengue but sometimes the implementation fails. One example, last month due to reported cases in Pusat Bandar Damansara area, DBKL did the carried out fogging at the surrounding areas such as roadsides and restaurants but they did it at 9 in the morning when fogging should be done late evening or very early in the morning when the mosquitoes are present. I questioned the worker and he told me that he was instructed to do it then since its more convinient. Fogging at that hour does not serve much purpose.
