Perdana Two: PMO Responds

"Aircraft lease ended Dec 31, 2013". The following is the response from the Prime Minister's Office to my posting Perdana Two, which I based on the story Big Dog broke here. I passed a copy of the release to the blog, run by Zakhir Mohamad, as soon as I was emailed a copy. He is not happy about something else - the lack of professional courtesy shown to him.

In any case, here's the Press Release:

Kenyataan Akhbar
Penggunaan Pesawat Khas

kenapa tak sewa from MAS as and when you need it and fitted to how you want it to be..... should it be cheaper that way adala juga income untuk MAS...

  3. thats why i believe they should just go back to the old ways…..rent from MAS when its needed and it can be fitted within days with all the amenities turning the plane into a VVIP Jet.
That way the goverment dont have to mantain an aeroplane which is proven to be very expensive….just maintain the smaller jets for region usage.....domestic bole naik domestic flight biar mesra rakyat sikit.....

Jangan kita terbawa bawa 'flavor' semasa.

Have a real trilling fun, babies Najib and Rosmah. After all UMNO no need to worry about not being elected to lead the government. It's all simple arithmetic deduction that Malay votes are immorally cheap with a mere RM500.00 bribe, and Bangla/Pinoy/Indo votes cost nothing.

The rural Malays after all only understand sampan, lembu, padi and RM500 duit percuma. Give them another RM500, even their teeth will drop down.

Stragely, the clarification from PMO does not seem to touch on FLOM's right to usage of these jets.

Interesting that they noted that "jadual sibuk..." requires pte jets....Rosmah has a busy schedule??

"Comlux did not reveal how much the plane was leased for but according to the company's brochure, the approximate operating cost for its Airbus ACJ320 flight is US$8,350.31 (RM27,501.75) per hour."

"In a parliamentary reply on Nov 7 last year, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Shahidan Kassim revealed that the government spent RM14.95 million for fuel and RM160.08 million in maintenance for VVIP flights in 2012."

Who made money from Comlux as "go-between"? And how much did they make? Hope nobody comes to an explosive end, it seems dangerous to broker anything for the gomen.

Phew...RM160.08 million in maintenance...bearing in mind that the gomen paid more than RM50K to maintain one dot matrix printer in 2011, how do we know this the right price?

Ahhhhhh, what do I know, I'm just one the faceless 29 million. Let the orang kaya get richer while we suffer, aku peduli apa.

  13. So PMO leased the ACJ320 for 11 months.

That is a lot of money. Im guessing, in the neighbourhood of RM40-50 million.

There is a handsome amount of profit element here.

Is that good expenditure, especially it is part of Operating Budget of 2013? More over, part of the travel is purely for politics and party work.

I think this response would draw more questions raised.

Another point troubling in my head; Why cant Najib the Felinist use the Bombardier Global Express, sinxe its already there?

    Why must charter an ACJ320?

Tun Dr Mahathir used the Global Express. Even until present day (Not the TUDM one lah!)

Please mind your language. I am a rural Malay in Baling who has to drive 10km for a decent internet connection. Don't simply call us rural Malay stupid and perasuah because we too have maruah.
in case you do not know the rural Malays in Baling are most astute when electing their representatives. The Baling Parlimentary constituency has been changing from many years of UMNO to independent, then back to UMNO, and then PAS and now UMNO again.
Many of you look down on Azeez Rahim on his lack of formal education. But the people of Baling elected him because he works very hard for them. And most of all dia tak berlagak, dan tak sombong.
So let us the stupid kampong Malay choose the reps that we like and you city sleekers yours.

It seems to me there are govt servants just standing by to provide swift response to defend the PM on issues like this. If only services to the tax payers are just as good.

I lost count but there must be great demand for those private jets so much so that govt couldn't wait for repairs to be done and had to hire some more...

The actual truth is ....when these VIP's leave their MAS flights , their next worry would be if their baggage awaiting to be collected is stolen ??? That will unearth a whole lot of worms --- in $$$$$$$$$ stashed in their travels in and out of the country.

    SIMPLE truth ................ Takut konon.
Safety tak terjamin, konon !!! Phui !

  17. Explanations and response from our government of late - be it from PMO, Ministers & even numero uno seems to be unreliable. Proven many a times not being right & far from the truth. Perhaps need to be audited & see the results. Credibility issue ...

This guy is being very rude.

I don't care about being "relevant" anyway, as long as the guy who signs my cheques sees some minimal blog activity from time to time. Whatever.

How about the bombardier global express and the falcon.

The PMO think we are stupid.

Hundreds of millions spent on jets. Its still unacceptable even to us BN supporters,

    ReplyDelete
  22. The point is we are getting poorer by the day.If you can cut cost why not.You may justify with myriad of reasons, but we must reduce government expenditure.
No name calling it is just prudent management.
