PM NO TO NEW MANDATE

NOOOOOOO! [NST's front page Sept 5 "Abdullah sees no reason to seek fresh mandate"]

"Why should I...You give me the reason why I should do so. Why should I seek a bigger mandate? The mandate that I have is a very safe mandate and I still have a lot of time to deliver what I promised to the people." - Abdullah Ahmad Badawi

Would you like to give the PM the reason why he should do so?

Sorry, Mr Prime Minister you're not playing god here.

  2. my reason: Undi tak percaya. Tak sabar nok pakoh pembangkang (hoping PAS will put candidate instead of Keadilan)untuk Parlimen Setiawangsa. The last two GE I voted for BN (Wangsa Maju then later Setiawangsa).

PM merepek. We asked him about fresh mandate and he answered about bigger mandate. Bigger mandate? What nonsense! We asked about elections, he talked about having a lotof time to deliver. Wake up, wahai Abdullah. It's half time already and your team is 10 goals down and you aren't done with your bloody warm-uo! Pigidah!

  4. Reason 1. We made a mistake of giving you an almost landslide win last GE. You cant blame us though, we were misled by your outwardly characteristics then.

Reason 2. Yes you have a lot of time to deliver your promise by YOUR reckoning, but we think that THREE years is a long time to at least see some of the promises being delivered, though so far we only hear the talk but yet to see the walk.

    REason 3. Later.....

This is completely unprecedented. The last time party elections were postponed, it was because they were too close to the general elections.
The Prime Minister's decision goes directly against the party's constitution. But is anyone going to raise this?
The PM says he has a safe mandate -- perhaps he ain't safe anymore.
Only elections will determine that once an for all.

    undurLAH...PAK LAH!

Walaupun pelbagai fakta mungkin menimbulkan seribu persoalan mengenai imej BERSIH Pak Lah ... mungkin Pak Lah masih mampu menjadi Imam dan bukan-nya seorang Perdana Menteri.

Pak Lah....tolonglah UNDUR sebelum nasi menjadi bubur.

PM, you have misrepresented us. You promised to tackle corruption, you are clean, you want people to work with you, you want people to tell you the truth. So we vote for you so that we hope to see changes after 22years fed up with Mahathir.

Unfortunately after more than 3 years (of course you claim you haven't warm up yet), nothing positive we see.

Had you have been sincere when you took over from Mahathir and say "ok, i will continue the same modus operandi like Mahathir and continue to be corrupted like Mahathir" then we would vote accordingly then.

You have misrepresented and short-changed us.

Surely for the better tomorow, we would like a new mandate.

  9. AAB has a right to delay the next GE as long as he wishes. But he can't delay the GE beyond 18 months after the last UMNO election. He is more afraid of the UMNO election than the GE. After he loses the next UMNO president post, he will cease to be PM. His MPs might not also last if the next president wants them out. So the longest AAB can remain PM is until the next UMNO election, only months after the next GE. Bigger mandate or not means little to him, and he should not dream that it matters. A good PM needs only be appointed to do good. More support does not empower his brain when grey matter is lacking. A person who could not see through the game of the son-in-law cannot be depended upon to govern a nation. That is a much more complicated game!

  13. Vote BN or vote BA?

    That is the question.

It is too simplistic to just change from one to the other because the current administration under AAB is making a mess of things locally and abroad.

Like it or not, BN needs to be re-elected in the next GE for continuity in governance. However, BN is not a political party in itself. It is a coalition of various political parties, mostly ethnic based, to represent the masses.

UMNO has mutated into an entity that rubs everybody the wrong way, including the majority of malays who are not members. In other words, UMNO takes care of umnoputras and their cronies only. Everybody else gets zilch.

So how do we vote BN again?

Vote for all BN candidates who are not UMNO based. MCA - yes. Gerakan - yes....etc. UMNO - NOOOOO! And if UMNO happens to put up a large and unprecedented number of candidates, they will lose big time, either way.

    What say you?

  17. He is poor in his math by saying "I still have a lot of time to deliver what I promised to the people". He has govern (or should i say his family has govern) the country since 2004 and Malaysia has gone down the drain since.

"The mandate that I have is a very safe mandate" should be translated to that "I am not sure whether I still have the mandate because of the disaster that has fallen to the country due to my weaknesses and my family.

And I heard that lately his daily routine is to play golf every morning before going to office. Can you verify for me bro rocky?

If this true maybe our beloved Prime Minister should resign and become professional golfer. And KJ can become his manager with Kamaluddin his coach. Scomi of course main sponsor.

    Selamat berpuasa. cheers

The next election will to some extend reflect on the influence of the non-mainstream media (which hopefully will become mainstream one day)on voters.

A comment regarding some naive posts in a couple of blogs before this one: even though we want leadership change, the political reality of this country will remain. We are not about to become another Singapore.

  25. Mahathir Mohamed, the rambunctious former prime minister of Malaysia, has revealed that he has mediated the peace proposal over 14 months of secret dialogue between Islamic insurgent leaders and Thai generals on Langkawi island and in Kuala Lumpur. He handed the process over to Thai and Malaysian officials in August.

The peace process in southern Thailand is further advanced than previously admitted, with the proposal signed by all the major insurgent groups to end the violence that has racked the three southern provinces.

  28. After almost 50 years, the future of a multi-racial and multi-cultural malaysia still remains hazy.
Even worse, now Malay dailies like the Berita Harian daily crusades the creation of a 'bangsa melayu' and the domninance of 'bahasa melayu'. The idea of Malaysia has been buried and forgotten just like our former premier Tun Mahathir.
Wawasan 2020 which was designed to create a Malaysia for Malaysians is conveniently pushed into the recesses of our rulers' myopic memories.
Have they forgotten the role of the Chinese in building the economy?
In transforming a sleepy village in the middle of a jungle where residents tended to livestock and tilled the land for food?
Have they forgotten the Chinese coolies who worked the tin mines up in Ampang when it was still a jungle because the locals refuse to do such hard labour?
Have they forgotten the help that non-bumi's give to what is essentially feudal lords, who have land and privleges as a matter of birthright, in building an economy with almost world-class industries like textiles, palm oil refnieries, banking and more?
When will the robbery of the immigrants stop and the local tryrants act like civilised citizens of the 21st century?
    If not now, when?
In the distant days of a destroyed nation?
    RIP then to our rulers.

Whya are you wasting your time writing about UndurLah. He can't even differentiate between a fresh mandate and bigger mandat!!! Why were his spin doctors Kalimulah and brnadon periera helping UndurLah to screw himself so badly? trust me UndurLah postpone the UMNO election to save himself and to hold to the president - the Generl Elections will not be held until 2008. I hope my UMNO borhters will wake up and put a vote of no conifnece so that UndurLah had to undur at last. This country does not need UndurLah, KJ, Kalimulah and Brnadon Pereira. Brother Rocky why are the Melayu in NST not standing up to scums like Brnadon and Kalimulah. 36. The reasons are very simple - we simply do not want you to be our PM anymore -
    1. You took sides on communal and religious issues when you should be representing all Malaysians.
    2. You lied big time about your family's involvement in business.
    3. Our children as promised was suppposed to be provided the best education you can provide without any religious biasness. In today's (October 9) main stream media, you make an announcement to say that our education system is Islamic in nature. It is no wonder that the national type schools have lost all its credibility.
    4. You are not serious about curbing corruption for if you have, you would have released the ACA over to Parliament instead of reporting to you. Nothing should be short of this.
    5. You want people who make sensitive remarks about your race and religion to apologise and yet you condone the same shameful acts of your people. Foget about getting them to apologise to the offended parties, you don't even have the guts tell them off!
    6. UMNO is the cause of the nation's disunity and this is something everybody agrees on. Look at all the racist remarks spewing from the mouths of your followers.

Something is worth noting here. During the Second World War, upon the fall of Norway to the Germans, there was a hue and cry in the British Parliament which led Lord George telling the Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlaine, "You have asked the nation for sacrifices, but there is one sacrifice that is more necessary than any other, and that is the sacrifice of your office."

Why do we need an early election? It is the only one way to show you the door for the longer you stay, the worse things will become. Can't you see it yet?????? We trusted you and therefore we voted you in in 2004. You abused our trust and therefore you must go.
