Time to have that alternative to Bar Council

Loyar Beruk. Apologies to all the good, decent lawyers out there (and I know of many, some of whom even helped me when I needed help back in those days when blogging, unlike today, was a risky past time) but when I read what the Bar Council, the body that claims to represent lawyers in this country, had to say about the Anwar Ibrahim vs Saiful Bukhary Azlan's Sodomy II verdict, I could not help but lose whatever little respect I had for the body.

My initial response to the Facebook posting by Seademon was "Loyar Buruk" but I immediately changed that to the more apt "Loyar beruk".

Read what the monkeys had to write (with apologies to the real monkeys in the trees out there):

Really, you good and decent lawyers who are yourselves against the Bar Council, you have to seriously think of setting up that alternative Bar. Restore our faith in lawyers, please!

The Bar Council is a sham. It's more akin to a Liquor Cocktail Bar.

    'LOYAR BERUK' it is!!

Would the setting up of an alternative bar council help to resolve the present problem ? In fact it surely will make things worse than it is now. Any good suggestions are and will be swept underneath the carpet or being ignored, what Malaysia now needs very urgently is a new government.
The one person that is advocating for the PM to resign should know best when to get out before he is compelled to resign.
He 'retired' before all the truths are revealed and all the cannons are out or all the failed policies are out. Again who was the sure one he chose to succeed AB, just like all the deputies he had who were sacked ?
This repugnant & avaricious half breed's action and criticism are just to demonstrate how 'good' he was. Judge not and you will not be judged !

How very appropriate of you kiwi boy to quote the maxim "Judge not and you will not be judged".
And in the same breath you have the temerity to degrade and called others names.
      What a big hypocrite!

  3. Kudos D. rocky bru. We have to voice the reality of "all those berdengung" that forget about now and the future. Just wondering, what are they for?

Its nothing of malay dilemma. Its bad, bad,bad and extreme malaysian behaviour dilemma - adapt from MJ's song.

This bunch of creeps call themselves "lawyers" and can instantaneously give views & opinions on the Federal Court's decision even without reading and analysing the court's full decision (which infact is not out yet). They, like the other trouble makers in the country just are out to manipulate public opinion. Sadly Malaysians are a gullible lot who can be taken for an easy ride. The fault actually lies with the enforcement sector - we should learn from our next door neighbour. If we handle 'em like Kuan Yew they will not dare to simply make statements merely to seek foreign support. Some of these jerks also rush to get some "queen's counsel" views - since they have no confidence in themselves even after so many years of liberation. Those foreign entities, on their part, should just shut up especially since they are in so much muck.

Loyar beruks are good only for fighting over Nut cases. Anything higher would just about spill their sparse brains. But they are hard up for gold-bearing dirty old men .... never mind the losers with sore behinds.

Sorry, only layman thinks anwar is guilty. 90% of the lawyers think he is not guilty. Please ask around your lawyer friends

Lawyer friends say that must not charge with sodomy because it is out modded offense what with now the west having gay marriages, gay couples etc. whilst in Malaysia we still continue being old fashioned. Lawyer friends say that if adults like same sex coupling must allow. Malaysia must become "progressive" like the west.

      10.03 and 2.53.
Tell your lawyer friends to practice law in those so-called progressive western countries. Better still, leave this old-fashioned country and migrate. Leave us out-moded folks to practice what we believe in.

Please put in the hard yards to understand what is being said by lawyers before you criticise the Bar Council.

The main reason for us to allow fairplay, decency and freedoms, etc is because YOU will need them one day. When BN loses government, they will be pleading for the Rule of Law - not rule by law. I bet quite a few people will be held accountable at that time and quite rightly so.

As we all know the Bar is dominated by two only racial groups in Malaysia. Whenever the indigenous group in Malaysia want to play an active role they are always outnumbered during the State Bar elections. Someone related a couple of years back that after a State Bar election this person was talking to a relative of one non-Malay member of a particular state's Bar who had uttered that "the Umno" are trying to get their people in the State's Bar and it was just because it so happened that a Malay member had partaken in that year's election. Needless to say that the Malay participant did not get chosen. One wonders why.
