THE JOHOR SULTAN SPEAKS OUT!

Bring on the bridge! Live on RTM this morning, the Sultan of Johor has ordered the Prime Minister to dismantle the Causeway. The Sultan says he does not want the Causeway, which was built by colonial masters who had cheated his forefathers.

I don't have the Sultan's exact quotes but Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was there when the Sultan said this at the unveiling of the PM's own idea/vision/plan for the SJER.

The last time the Sultan reportedly spoke out on politics, it was widely reported by the media.

update 9.30pm: Bernama filed the report here on what the Sultan said (minus the fact he was not happy about the use of his name for the project) at 5.16pm.

The launch of SJER named after the sultan...but tv3 report 1.30 news did not even see it fit to include the sultan's speech! Here is the man whose name is being used to commemorate what would be in history the biggest development project in the region and nothing he says is important?? Tho tv3 did c it fit to air dolah and mb's comments.

    I whisper to myself.....

Wilayah Pembangunan Iskandar,WPI, ini sudah ada 2 Sea ports, One international Air ports, a few townships old and new, a direct land link to Singapore..basically WPI is a joint-development of all JBs municipilities, plus some new areas bordering to them. So, we have a new Federal entity, similar to LADA in Langkawi ( Langkawi had nothing before ), or Tioman ( sudah dilupakan terus, tioman pun tiada apa2)...or like the one in Labuan. But, the Langkawi and Tioman have specific purpose..tourism Islands, whilst Labuan for Offshore Financial Hubs....but, our new WPI has evrything in place. The only approach I can see is that of UDA (before) functions and responsibilities.

WPI is good. Don't get me wrong. But, it is not a NEW BARREN place to be called new initiatives. When Paklah Muted "my Idea" about SJER ( then ), I thought it was similar to King Abdullah economic City (KAEC), at Rabigh, Saudi Arabia. Rabigh is a 50km by 50km new ( with nothing ) area, about 50km north of Jeddah. The Saudi Federal Government approved SR 100billion for the KAEC during the launch in late Dec 2005.

So, we have WPI now, as look at it, it is going to be tough for everybody who hope for BIG MONEY, because NOTHING is pledged yet by the Federal Government. It is going to be like Langkawi, Labuan, Tioman or even Proton....will be condenm when a new PM is throned..because a precedent has been ongoingly set.

So JBan, orang 2JB, congratulation for getting a new name that combines all JBs..WPI. Minta Paklah commit RM 100b for the next 10 years, suruh dia sign siap2.

By the way, Tun Dr mahathir hari ini is on the way to Rabigh, KAEC,..Tun Dr. Mahathir is the Adviser to King Abdullah of Saudi for the development of KAEC..UMNO hampir buang dia...

One of the biggest appointed developers to the KAEC project is Emaar group from Dubai...the one that is build the Burj Hotel and currently developing the future tallest building un Dubai, THE BRUJ TOWER . US, Jones Lang Homes, akhir tahun lepas...so Emaar group is now the largest property group in the world.

Good Luck to you all.

His opening speech ... Saya amat sukacita dan ... dukacitahari ini. Sedih sebab sultan2 dulu bodoh kena tipu mat salleh. Mat salleh penipu! Jangan percaya dengan dia orang ini semua. Lahabau punya mat salleh!

    Second sms reads:

Nama development is Wilayah Pembangunan Iskandar. He is suppose to launch by mentioning it. Halfway, dia kutuk ..."apa ni guna nama aku?! Patut guna nama Rahman andak! Dia yang berajsa menentang British! Earlier his speech on the spot kutuk British & causeway. He said ... buang je causeway tu! Biar kapal kita lalu."

    In your face Pak lah!

Syed Hamid shd remember one of Tuanku's direct warning to him, "Aku dendam kau!". Someones long political career is ending ....

Wrong, he spoke from prepared text but some parts he improvised (especially about the mat saleh and pak lah as his friend). At one point, he even paused for at least 30 seconds (trying to find where he was in the text).

    Rockybru dan The Scribe,

Ada ke transcript rasmi titah Sultan Johor? Kalau ade minta poskan. Yang saya ade ni mungkin tak rasmi. Member dari JB yang kerje pemberite bagi. Mohon bantuan.

    pihak.

Maknanya bererti iaitu kita semua ni bermuafakat insyaalah berkat. Saya
berterima kasih kepada kerajaan persekutuan. Terutama sekali sahabat
saya datuk Dollah badawi. Yang mana saya bukan kenal baru dah berapa
puluh tahun dah kenal (hands clapping)

Iskandar? Kenapa letak nama saya ni?
tak payahlah ni... Yang menentang kerajaan Inggeris tu Datuk Abdul
Rahman Andak. Jangan bangga dengan mat salleh. saya... bukan main
    kotornya mat salleh ni. “

Again Tun Dr M was proven right. We need a new bridge to allow shipping in the Johor Straits and clean its filty water.

Our HIP Prime Minister succumbed to Singapore's colonialist threats and trickery and cancelled the bridge project.

The Sultan of Johor may have known the HIPster for a long time. But the HIPster did not bother to consult the Sultan before naming the SJER after him, like he did not inform Dr M about the bridge cancellation.

Our HIP PM seems to forget even common courtesy. Shameful. Can someone who is forgetful lead a solat?

So, how many projects in the Serambi Iskandar, and how many billions of ringgit, will go to Lee Kuan Yew and Co Plc, Mr Prime Minister?

If you "don't know", we know who knows.

    Try Khairy Jamaluddin, remember him?

If he does not know, we know who else knows.

Ask Kalimullah Hassan, the former SSS (Singapore Straits Times - with permission, Rocky) operative!

If he tells you he does not know, he is lying. Because he has been proven many times to be a liar.

If you don't know he's a liar, Mr Prime Minister, God help us.

    You still remember God, Dollah?

I accidentally tuned in (RTM1) and I heard the Sultan say what he said about the Causeway and mat salehs. It was great! Of course, he did say that one sentence that he has known Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for many years, but only that. However, in the beginning of his royal address (a prepared speech, no less!) he could not even pronounce Abdullah's full name....which I take as an indication of how well he knows him. Surely, the Sultan would never have had to re-read or mispronounce Dr.M's name.

I totally like this Sultan....though I must say that me and my ma were rather disappointed that he did not give AAB the necessary ticking-off, that only he can - and that he didn’t give the Press a scolding for mis-using his "pencen" statement.

In all, the Sultan of Johore ROCKS!!

Writer from the space, in part, said: "Try Khairy Jamaluddin, remember him?"

I was told by some Mubarak people that KJ could be hatching a plan to sack Tun Dr M at the coming Umno Assembly.

Not unlikely. He has the power. He can ride rough shot over his spineless Ketua aka Hishammuddin Hussein Oon at the Pemuda Assembly by instigating a youth resolution to have Tun sacked.

Like Anwar, Tun M is the bane for KJ's future. A Pemuda "sack Mahathir resolution" is possible. When Tun is gone, the Anwar-Khairy plot to take over Umno can materialize.

    What do you think Bru?

  21. ex bt reporter, i have no doubt whatsoever that kj has the power to climb over his "spineless Ketua", Hishammuddin Hussein at the general assembly. but to go for Dr M's jugular, using the toothless Pemuda, would be over-ambitious for this ambitious over-achiever, I'd say. or, extremely desperate. i don't mean just kj, i mean also how desperate kalimullah hassan gets by then.

now, how desperate kalimullah hassan may get depends on several factors, many of which, i believe, are beyond our control and understanding. as a former operative of the SST (Singapore Straits Times), kali's advice to kj will be dictated by factors or elements that may be alien to us. i am inclined to believe that, after Brendan P's fall from grace, the other members of the putrajaya 4th floor will be lying as low as they can and kj will let others speak on his behalf at the pemuda. they may even get kj to stage a scene where he would "stop" a proposed motion from the youth wing to sack dr m.

whatever kj does, the orders won't come from sri perdana, sri setia or putrajaya. the orders will come from elsewhere. and hishammuddin hussein will not know better.

    Bru,

    Some points to ponder:

1 - The Sultan had all along wanted a bridge to replace the present one. He was prevented from making his views public when he spoke at Umno's celebrations in JB last year. This time he just let go!

2 - The clapping by the audience at the ceremony was spontaneoius. It took a few seconds for the Sultan's words to sink in before the crowd reacted. This must be the Johoreans whom the Govt had all this while claimed not to want the bridge.

3 - The Govt had taken the Sultan for granted. Last year RTM stopped the Live coverage just before the Sultan was about to speak at Umno's celebrations in JB. They tought the Sultan was going to bring up the bridge issue when he addressed the crowd but he didn't. The Sultan did say that he wanted to say more. 'Aku nak cakap lagi, tapi Ghani (MB) tak bagi,' the Sultan said.

4 - TV3 aired the Sultan's off-the-text remarks in what was intended to show that it dared to report the event. The TV station did a poor job. It was obvious the station doctored the sound byte making the Sultan's remarks sounded as if he was speaking in a cave!

5 - Dato Zam of RTM was a total washout. RTM had covered the ceremony live. But its prime time news made no mention of the Sultan's comments. Dato Zam, a top editor many years ago, have lost his news sense since becoming Information Minister. In the same news, Dato Zam praised his own station that RTM is much better and 'hebat!' I realised then that RTM 8pm news is also a sitcom!

6 - It was a pity that the PM had to cancell his post-launch press conference. Otherwise we would have got some comments from him on the Sultan's remarks. The PM had to go to Pakistan to attend a conference. Maybe we can still get his comments but from Pakistan, and after consulting his spin doctors.
Since he was taking his own jet, he could still have had a PC.

    Rocky,

why not you do some research and reveal them on LKY's failure to develope Shenzhen Economic zone in the late 90's altough they were awarded the project by the Chinese Govt.
I've read it before and if I wasn't mistaken, due to some hidden agenda by LKY, the local goverment did not give full corporation to him and LKY start to give all kind of excuses on the failure. Even the Chinese govt also did not trust him.
I believe LKY wanted to continue the same project at SJER using "Si Balau- SIL" to continue with his agenda.
Appreciate you notes on this matter so that we can share it with all Malaysia to rationalize the purpose of SJER.
